Callaway FT-3

Played a social game at Mona Vale today and borrowed a mates Callaway FT-3.

it was purely superb.

and im not a picky driver off the ball, if it can go long and close to the fairway i am pleased.

but this this was going 250+ every drive, and on the fairway. and on the dog-legs i could move it to the right of the left whenever i pleased.

my longest drive was 282 my shortest was 220 and the average was around 257. and hit it into the trees only once. It was set on 'Neutral' and was easily one of if not the best driver i have ever hit.

now these figures arent un-beleivable...but the reason i am so impressed is beacuse it took absolutley no power or speed to get this this in the air and flying. No wonder Phil carries 2.

any one else got one or had a hit with one?

Hit one, liked the results ball flight wise, but hated the sound and feedback. Sounded dull, and no feedback as to how it was hit.

Very forgiving though.

down and out…did ya get that?

do you carry a laser measuring gun on course with you or something?

no...do you thommo?

i'm just amazed as your precise measurements, particularly your 257m average.

i'm also surprised you're so happy with the FT-3 when it has taken 3m off your average with your old driver.

well these days you use this cutting edge technology they call a calculator (this is when it gets confusing so keep up with me) you take a general distance of where your ball rests, write it down and then at the end of the day you add them up, divide them by the amount of fairways hit...and bobs your uncle this amazing super computer tells you the number!!! i know...crazy.

and whilst dissapointed with the loss of 3 metres. i will RE-express the ease at which is used this driver today.

you must have the best tee to fairway game of any 15 handicapper ever!

keep up the good work, thanks for the maths lesson laugh.gif

here to help, champion.

I recently bought the new Cobra f-speed, im very happy with my choice, long and straight. I tried a few different drivers at the range, including the Callaway FT, Ping G5, Taylormade R7 and Nike SQ. The nike was awful to hit, felt like a croquet mallet, the Callaway also felt terrible, and the sound is shocking to say the least. The others were all quite reasonable, but i chose the Cobra because it felt more solid and i like the sound.

Im a big fan of Callaway products, but the FT driver was horrible for me.

drivers like everything suit different people...I have a new Wilson driver that last years model and I love it...I'm now around 230-240 every drive...I hit about 6 drivers all round the $350- $450 and they were all about the same...wilson one didnt fade as much so I went for that one...

I believe it was 282m Dana.

Don't rob the kid of 10m.

...and can shape it left and right at will! Remind me to just concede if we ever meet in handicap matchplay. No hope giving you 13 shots.

he cheats though, so you should get the win easy.
