I have about $150 to spend...and need a cart bag...

ok here i go...

should I get a 14 individual divider bag..is it necesasary to have the dividers go all the way down

do I need one with a seperate putter holder...

I have 14 clubs what size..is 9.5 inch too small these days

what material is best...

do the cooler thingmy's work properly??

are certain brands better than others??

my current bag is about 12 years old..and I have just upgraded my clubs (new driver) and fairway woods and a decent set of irons...I have seen the funny shaped ones (not round) are they good..and do they stay on the buggy

The big problem with cart bags, i.m.h.o, is that they sit on the cart at a slant - thus /.

This ensures that the handle of every club finds its way to the same (ish) location at the bottom of the bag.

This is a complete pain in the pinny when you try to pull a club only to find half of the whole load coming out at the same time, or none moving at all due to a complete tangle at the bottom of the bag.

Dividers right the way through to the bottom are essential.

A bag is a personal choice. The things that are important to you might not be for others. In a bag, I like:

14 separate compartments with the dividers all the way down. No need for a separate putter compartment.

Material is a matter of what you like.

The cooler compartments aren't really necessary if you have plenty of pockets and storage.

My bag (a Wilson) comes with a rain cover that is attached to one of the pockets and folds away nicely when you don't need it - much more user friendly than those big leather rain covers.

In terms of brands, go with what you like. Ogio are great but very expensive. OEM brands have great looking staff bags that aren't too practical and can be bloody heavy (and expensive too). I picked up this Wilsin bag for less than $200 a couple of years ago - you'd probably get it or something similar cheaper now...

I have the wilson bag (cooler pocket for cold drinks) from golfmart ($129). I like the light material and the rain cover (yes much easier to use than the leather type) and my mates commented that the bag is much lighter even with the clubs. Sufficient pockets at the right places and a separate putter holder. No regrets so far.

Just laybyed a Precept Launcher golf bag. Only one I have seen to have dividers running left/right and forward/back in the bag. huge pockets are either side at the back, leaving room for the cart spine. Has putter pocket on the side and the usual cooler pocket.
got it for $159

you can get some pretty good deals on golf bags on ebay.
would get a much better bag for that price there, then from the golf store. tongue.gif tongue.gif

i think you probably mean the Precept Laddie - maybe the new XTreme

sigs are back – YAY

Was wondering if it is possible to use a stand bag with a little push trolley?

Reason being, the stand bags are smaller (with new baby this is a big issue) and much lighter, and more convenient when you want to just go to the range. But when I play a full 18 I would like to use my push trolley.

On the topic, I'd look for a light bag, with dividers that go all the way down. Lots of bags on Ebay for reasonable prices.

I'll put a pic up of the bag when I get it, it was barcoded as a launcher.
As far as Ebay goes, I actually saw higher prices for wilson bags than in the sports shop I bought my bag from (can we say where on here?)

I got a Tourstage staff bag for about $300 about 2.5 years ago, it is the best looking most durable and most practicle bag I have ever had.
It even has two small insulated pockets for small bottles of water.

Everyone's needs are different work out what you want and go from there.

I mostly play with a stand bag, my staff bags that I keep at home store my vast collection of "spares" and backup clubs.

I cant beleive the write up, it actually made me cry unsure.gif . But its a good priced bag, and looks like it will go for a good price.

As long as it matches your shoes you should be ok. Nothing worse than a fashion fauxpas on the golf course.

Take a look at Bennington. I recently purchased a "quiet organizer" and have been extremely pleased with it. It also should be in your price range. It has a top that keeps clubs in place and keep them from banging. Cooler pocket. 2 putter scarabs ( I put my putter in one and most commonly used wedge in the other).

I was looking at this brand aswell. They seem to be very well made. Mind if I ask where you purchased this from and what price?

Thanks.

Sorry, I have been off for a few days. I got a Bennington Quiet Organizer. I bought it from an EBAY retailer and think I paid around $100-120 US for it.
