How many sets have you got?

How does everyone justify having more than 1 driver or sets of irons. What composition of clubs do you have.
I have 2 sets of irons – one being a gamemprovement he other being forged blades. I had fun explaining the forged iron set to my partner. The reason I have 2 is every so often I go away for work so want to take a set away with me and can leave them where I will be and then also play the weekends I am home.
So how many sets have you got and how do you justify your multiple sets? I need something good to tell my partner when I come home with another set.

Tell her you need one for comp and one for practise.

PING NUT

I have three sets.

I justify it by saying I spend my money however I want, and you are free to do the same.

Test

Technically I have 5 – but one I is used by the GF, one is used by my Dad.

Of the other 3 – I am trying to get rid of 1 (cheap PGF package set), and other 2 are for my work lifestyle. I do FIFO occasionally to places that have courses. One set for work, one set for home.

I don’t spend money on booze, smokes, or drugs, so don’t have a drama justifying all the gear I have.

Cheers,
Ben

I have two sets. Since starting last August my game has improved big time. I do have 4 putters though.

Yes, I find mentioning the number of handbags my partner has generally quills too many questions.

I am unfortunately a compulsive collector and have multiple sets of basketball shoes and cycling equipment.

I had 4 full sets up until mid last year, then I gave 2 of them (game improvement irons) to our pro who was just taking over the business to use as hire clubs. So still got 2 full sets, one being my good set (Mizuno irons, TM driver, Odyssey putter) and the other being my previous set which is still not bad (TM Rak irons, R7 driver, older odyssey putter). My adult kids borrow that set occasionally.

I have 3 sets of irons 2 are Mizuno blades mp67 & mp68’s plus a set of ping ISI’s in berilium cooper. I have about 15 different wedges and about the same in drivers through to hybrids. Now my 9 year old has his own set and my wife as a full set of callaway ladies clubs. I think we have about 6 golf bags in the garage.
It’s scary when you add it all up isn’t it.

9 sets of irons, 10 drivers of various types (wooden and metal), 6 three woods and 7 putters.

I don’t try to justify it : )

Nine out of ten people believe that out of ten people, one person will always disagree with the other nine!

You could start up your own club hire business !

Haha; good idea : )

Most of the irons are old stuff (Hogan, Mizuno and Wilson) that just look pretty.

The drivers I should stick on Ebay : P

I have the current set that I bought a year ago.
The previous set is in the garage somewhere.
The set before that is hanging around somewhere too.
Then there are a few drivers that have all been superseded over the years.

I doubt that I’d get much money for the old stuff, so it just sits there.

I’ve got none that do the job properly, where can I get some that work?

What is this golf game you talk of?

Unfortunately nope; I’m a HOarder : (

I have 2 sets of irons, they are my old Maxfli Revos, which need a reshafting and my current AP2’s.

I believe you can never own too many putters (6 at last count) and I don’t believe in selling them if you have putted well with them previously. If I’m putting bad I like swapping putters out or practicing with a different one as it gives you a different look a feel.

I can’t find a 3 wood I like so I current have 4 of them, of which I will never sell the VSteel which is going to get a new shaft. I trying to sell 2 of the 3 woods that I have, so I will be down to 2.

I have about 6 hybrids of various lofts, as trying to figure out which one I like and will settle on.

Holding steady at 4 at present.

Powerbuilt Platinum 6’s – Driver, 3W 5W 21Deg hy 4 – SW, TM Putter.

Cleveland Ta6’s – Hibore XLS driver & 290 driver (about to swap shafts and leave the 290 in the bag) Launcher 3W 20 mashie then 4 – SW, 52 GW and 60/8 lobby, Cleveland putter.

Daiwa Aggressor II’s , full set, graphite. Muck around clubs but the irons are great. Some putter. Palm Springs I think. El cheapo with gel insert but strokes and feels good.

Precept Tour Forged 2i to SW, Tom Watson 60/10 lobby – Bridgegstone J33P 8.5 driver, Titliest 909F2 3W TM putter.

Can’t play any of em real good since coming back to this pain in the arse game, but the plan is to eventually just end up with the Precepts and then move on to a new fitted forged set.

Then of course you have the obligatory extra couple of drivers, wedges, and a few individual irons that I have come to grow attached to over time.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish…..

Current set , Wilson Tour V2, 3 iron to PW, 52deg gap and 60 deg FG. Titleist driver, 15 deg 3 wood, 18.5 deg 5 wood and 21 deg hibrid. Old Big Bertha 10.5 deg driver as well. I get it out at the range now and then…

Ha Ha,5 iron sets,5 drivers,5 fairway woods,6 putters various wedges and as above none that work properly.

can only drive it 200 m on average

Two sets, my old ones have been kept just in case someone wants to borrow a set for a social game or something like that.
Usually a couple of beers hire charge, so it all works out OK.

I’ve got a couple o sets of irons.

MP 68’s, MP 32’s, MP 57’s, a set of Srixon something 01’s, a set of old Arnie Palmers.

So um, 5 iron sets ….... but I tend to swap sets in and out of my bag whenever I get bored. I had the MP 32’s in for about the last week, but as of last night the MP 68’s are now back in the bag

LH Drivers I have more than a few, possibly 8 or 9 in total, with another one currently on order.

LH Putters …...... probably 3 or 4, well maybe 5 all up, along with various wedges, hybrids, 3 woods etc.

So that’s my left handed stuff.

For my Right handed stuff ….......

In the RH golf bag at the moment, I’ve got a set of borrowed Maxfli irons (from Taylarsdad)

I also have a couple of RH drivers to choose from, oh, and a couple of spare RH putters that are floating about in the golf rack at home.
