What?

Now days you see all sorts right, from leather dress type shoes to sports running type or even the Freddie Couples loafer!

So, does just chucking a couple of plastic spikes or a “grip” sole make it a golf shoe?

Are there actual rules?

Some of the Nike and Puma shoes I have seen look more suited to a night club, but, cause they have plastic spikes and are sold by a golf shoe maker they are golf shoes? You might be onto to something Stinkler.

So, this from my course;

Approved golf shoes must be worn when playing on the course or using the practice facilities. Unless specifically approved by the Committee, golf shoes must have spikes, either metal or non-metal. Non-metal spikes are preferred.

Unacceptable footwear includes runners (footwear designed for sport other than golf), bare feet, thongs, sandals, socks without shoes and shoes without socks

Must have spikes? They sell shoes without spikes?

Approved golf shoes? Who approves them? Nike or Adidas?

Runners? Many golf shoes look like runners?
