Mizzy JPX825

I was able to demo a Mizzy JPX825 3 wood yesterday..Very surprised how easy
it was to hit off the deck (well most of the time). A very forgiving club and nice looking as well imho.
Me wants !!!
Also, is there a big diff between the JPX 825 and JPX 825 pro irons. Are they like the MX25’s, a forged iron but with forgiveness to compensate for bad swings ?
Any advice appreciated..

Check the mizuno Europe site
All the pics, stats,
shafts and handicap suitability is all there

In the previous model, I tried both the JPX 800s and the JPX 800 Pros. I ended up buying the 800s, found them easier to hit and more forgiving. I’m a C grader. The 800 pros (now 825s) are for a better player than myself – A or B graders, maybe up to 18 hcp, IMO.

Thx Kiwi..Yeh i have checked out all the specs ect..
Trickshot thx for your input too. Probably not too much difference
between the 800’s and 825 i guess.
When the time comes I’ll try them both out and see how we go.

think the 825’s are for mid capper down (14??)

Ok..Maybe JPX800HD may be a better option according to Mizuno.
MMmmm thanks Kiwi..

In the 800s, the Pros are forged and the others aren’t.

I play off 17 and have 800Pro. A mate plays off 9 and has 800.

While it may be folly for a higher handicapped player to try and use blades, the important thing is to have clubs that you like the feel of and are comfortable with. And there’s nothing to prevent a low marker from having top results with HDs.

The main reason the various models exist is so that high handicapped players, who are more likely to experience off-centre hits, will still have the ball go a decent distance and fairly straight. Blades, on the other hand, can be better utilised to shape shots (hi, lo, left, right) but need centred shots to go straight. A low handicapped player is more likely to have better consistency and better centred shots. Everything in between is a compromise more to one category or the other.

There is an argument that if a player uses clubs that are designed for greater ability than the player currently has, he will learn (the hard way) to hone his skills. Or he might just think they are shit clubs.

i play mp57’s and am looking to get some thing more forgiving in the future (as i get more older) & had a look at the 825’s
the soles are plenty wide to be forgiving enough so dont be put off.
i 2nd the fact get forged so they can be bent to your spec’s

Haven`t thought much of their woods, but young girl pounding Mizuno driver way past Webb and others in Aust ladies Open yesterday.

Treat the young members at your club with mutual respect.Clubs need them too.

Kiwi..If i can get an forged iron with forgiveness i will probably lean towards it rather than a cast iron..You can really notice the difference
in feel..But time will tell when i get around to changing irons.
I remember when i had the fitting done for my MX25’s, I was after the cast model but cant remember which one, there was a big diff in the feel between cast and forged.

Palmeister..I was the same as you..never thought much of Mizzy woods either but the new JPX 825 are a nice club.
I struggled so much with 3 woods of the deck that I normally don’t bother keeping one in the bag. I was able to hit it off the deck nicely
6 outta 10 shots which is good for me !!!
They are worth consideration at least imho..

Was watching USA’s Stacy Lewis, No 3 ranked womens player in the world, hitting on the driving range, warming up for the Aust Open at Royal Canberra today. I noticed she was using cavity back Mizzy irons, looked like JPXs. I asked her caddy what model they were and sure enough they were JPX 825s. I was gobsmacked. I didn’t want to annoy them too much and ask about shafts etc but would have liked to.
She was using a Taylormade R1 Driver as were many of the other players.

I’m currently gaming a JPX 825 3wood thanks to Fergo. I had to wait a while for it as I ordered it before they were released. I can honestly say it was worth the wait, it’s one of the easiest 3 woods to get airborne. It has replaced my 910 fairway without hesitation!! I used to game the JPX800 but Stinkler stole it off me when he was in Perth!

My 2 cents…

got the JPX 825pro’s for Christmas and am absolutely stoked with the performance.

Might have to check out the range of woods to go with them after this thread.

53’s are fair bit more forgiving than fiddy 7’s

newer isnt always better (and man I should know that)

plenty of 800 pros floating about….regs easy peasy and still forged bats
