So I thinking about getting a couple if hybrids. Am thinking a 15° and a 21°. Are these a good choice also what hybrids do you have ?

I may have i higher score then you but atleast i get to hit the ball more times

Whats your hcap, what irons or fairway woods are you looking to replace?

More tigerish than a wounded TIGER

my hcap is non existent so far. Until last month had never played golf before.

Only fairway wood i have is a 3 wood but i’m not very good with it and dont spend much time on the fairway

Mainly looking for something to replace my 3 iron but also trying to fill my set

A 3 hybrid (3H), being a 3 iron equivalent, is usually 18° or 19°.
A 4H is usually 22° or 23°. A 5H should be around 26°.

Your 3W should be about 15°.

Would a better option be to get 1 hybrid either a 2 or 4 iron replacement as I dont have them and get a 5 wood

If you only want 1 hybrid get a 3 hybrid.
A 2 hybrid is a bit more difficult to get of the ground, especially if you have only been playing for a short time

I use a 22° 4H. It goes nearly as far as my 3W.

I found that everyone is different in how far the hit their hybrids.

It might be wise to get one at 18-21 to play with first and figure out how far you hit it in relation to your irons and woods. I’ve found that a 3-4 separation would be about 10-15m.

If you’re not currently very good with your 3 wood, (in keeping it in the fairway) then I think rather than go for a lower lofted hybrid initially like a 2 or 3 … you might want to look at a higher lofted one, such as a 4H or something like that.

Loft is your friend, the more loft you hit, the less sidespin you generally get …. so starting out with a higher lofted hybrid might be the way to go in order to keep it in the fairway.

Then, as you’re skills develop you can always move onto the 2 or 3 hybrid …..... but if you jump right into a 2H first, with the lower loft, you may well get more sidespin …..... and could just end up in the same situation as your 3 wood.

so I am have decided on a whole set of clubs which come with a 3 and 4 hybrid. It doesn’t come with a 3 iron but that is the main club I use so is it worth keeping the 3 iron from my old set even though I will have the hybrids

I may have i higher score then you but atleast i get to hit the ball more times

No

Depends what your old set was, the 3 iron might have been an 18 degree lofted club anyway.
Give us an idea what you used to have and then we can advise you properly ( just needle in the haystack atm :)
Jon…

You can get the whole set as hybrids too, from 2 thru sandiron ???

You really need to hit your 3 wood abit harder then, Philip !
Jon…:)

I’m probably just not confident enough with the 3W to let ‘er rip.
