Which GPS do I buy?

I am intending to buy my first gps unit, I play in Perth WA at 3 different courses. Have researched all of them and am now totally confused. I have like the Sureshot range because the courses have been mapped by being walked, for accuracy. Looking at cheap to mid price structure. Any recommendations on which brands to investigate? Thanks

What kind of information are you wanting to get out of the device? Distances to front, middle, back or do you want it to hazards etc as well? If you are wanting basic info and don’t want the hassle of having to register the device, look at the SS 300X or if you want a little more info then the SS 700X. I think the GolfBuddy devices are a much better device if you want all the bells and whistles.

Mate, you can’t go past the Garmin Approach G3. Have a look at this thread. On sale at JB Hi Fi for a cracker of a price.

Thanks for your post. I’m quite new to golf and have a high handicap of 45 (ladies) so at this stage I’m looking for something that will tell me with distances to front middle back and hazards, and also help me work out what average distance I hit my various clubs. Because there is so much new information about golf going thru my head when I play, I’m looking for something that is easy to use whilst I’m chasing around that pesky little white ball!

Thankyou. I did look at Garmin approach G3, but it doesn’t measure shot distance (correct me if I have misunderstood it’s specs). This is a problem of mine cause I don’t know the distance my clubs get me.

TTR all over it. Well done.
No, I am not a bandit! I do not shoot 47 points! |

With a gps and thus knowing how far out from the green you are, you will soon learn how far each club goes. The only time I ever use the shot distance is where I feel I’ve really skinned one and wonder how far I managed to hit that one shot.
