Golf society online store

Has anyone shopped at www.thegolfsociety.com.au? Have seen some good stuff on their site. Looking for some feedback. Cheers

Might be worth asking what their shipping policy is with regards to returns, especially if you are thinking about buying shoes. A lot of companies will give you a reply paid address to post things back to, so it doesn’t cost you anything to exchange something if the sizing isn’t right.

It looks expensive at a quick glance. Buying from any etailer is about price first.

My mate had all new gear on from there this past Saturday. He is pretty pleased with what he got for the price and the shipping to North Queensland was very fast, 1 or 2 nights i think.

They have been advertising on ISG for past couple months- seem very legit from what our dealings have been and the gear looks pretty good. I havent purchased so cant comment on that.

Nice range of gear, but you’ll find it cheaper elsewhere….

searching for feedback…after 1 post…ok

your store is waaaay too expensive. ECCO, for example can be found cheaper in the DFO store, and without the risk of the shoes not quite fitting properly.
CROSS clothing can be purchased cheaper from Drummond as a club member.
on-line shopping’s natural advantage is price, nothing more and nothing less. if it is not cheaper, it is not worth it.

For what it is worth, that is my feedback.

Hello all,

Let me be honest straight up here; I have joined the forum just to comment on this post AND I have a vested interest – should I duck for cover? :)

What brings me to this page is fascinating to me – some good visitors have been coming to the site from this page and looking around quite a bit, now when you consider that a great deal of the content in this post is about the apparel being too expensive and the only reason to shop online being price you would wonder why… perhaps people like to judge for themselves what is too expensive and what is not and or perhaps price is not the ultimate deciding factor.

I know from personal experience at different times in my life price has meant more or less. Everyone loves a bargain yes I agree but price is not the ultimate deciding factor for everyone by any means and certainly not the only natural advantage in shopping online.

For me buying online means I can get items that I can not get anywhere else in Australia for example certain labels or current styles, but most importantly to me it is convenient. At this point in my life I am time poor and would rather spend more money and less time mucking around looking for what I want, because time is a commodity that I can not generate more of. At other times finding an item I wanted for the best available price and saving $10 or $20 was most important to me even if it took me 2 hours. Nowdays if I find a lot of things that I like/want in one place online – well colour me happy!

Here’s something the creator of the golf society wrote in this regard recently

“Our goal is to always be price competitive whilst ensuring that we maintain confidence in the brands we represent. It’s a bit of fine line to be honest….offer the best prices to our customers but also try and encourage the best brands to allow us the opportunity to represent them and sell their products online. As soon as a retailer becomes focussed on being the cheapest they’ll immediately remove any opportunity to work with the best brands and the best products…. The point of difference we’re aiming for is the ability for a fashion focussed golfer to be able to have access in one location to the absolute latest season releases from the worlds best golf/fashion brands. We’ll be focussing on the styles and collections seen ‘on tour’ and always endeavour to promote the brands that embody the latest fashion trends….in my experience the average golf store in Australia tends to lack enough variety in new brands, rarely provides any insight into the unique nature of the product and stocks mostly the ‘safe-bet’ items. Our aim is to earn customer loyalty by demonstrating exceptional customer service and offering a unique, fun and convenient shopping experience. 2013 will see some exciting new brands into Australia such as J.Lindeberg, exclusive to The Golf Society and priced in-line with the US.”

Thanks for including thegolfsociety.com.au in your healthy discussions and I hope to see continued visits from this page.

Good post Rob.
I had never heard of your website before tonight.
But I am with you.
I cant be arsed dicking around on 41 different eteailers, just to save 10 bucks. If you have what I need, and it is not stupidly over priced, and the postage is good, Im in
