Saw Harrington hit a wilson lob wedge that stopped dead once. Made me buy one. Then I realised that practice was involved and I was no longer inspired. Good name for a volleyball though. Seen some Fg tours with stiff kbs shafts 2nd hand on monday in a pro shop in mildura, had to run out before i relented and took them home.
he did offer for me to take them out for a run…...how long i can resist is going to be intersting. have 5 sets of irons atm so 6 seems reasonable, doesn’t it ?

I am pretty certain I bought my current bats in 2002, I am not good enough to use one set, let alone 6 :)
though, they still look like new cause they get tucked into soft warm sensuous head covers after each and every shot

Have been using their irons for a while now, and although I just got a set of FG Tours over the newer V2’s, these things are the best irons I have ever hit. Had the Pi5’s and the Pi7’s before these. Not hanging it on any other brands, (Mi….) but these things are awesome, soft, and long. I totally agree. I’ve got Mizuno MX-200, MP52, MP68 and Titleist AP2 but the Wilson FG Tour V2 is the softest feeling iron I’ve hit.
Most underrated brand that I’ve encountered.
Shame that most people seem to think that their stuff is rubbish without ever trying them. They might be pleasantly surprised.

Bit of history about Wilson.
Wilson Staff irons were #1 on tour during the 1980’s. They have been highly rated since the 1920’s. Used by the likes of Snead, Sarazen,Hagen, Palmer, Faldo.
I think Wilson lost it when they tried to compete with Ping, Callaway etc with the cavity back irons. I believe people thought of Wilson as the “Tour Player Irons” when they wanted game improvement crap, sorry, I mean irons.
They always made brilliant blades and went back to future in 2005 when they reintroduced the Wilson Staff brand.
I haven’t hit the latest Wilson irons, I still have 3 sets of the “oldies” to wear out. But listening to the reviews I might have to head out to a demo day.
I stand to be corrected but I’m sure I read once that Wilson irons do have the most victories on the PGA Tour and the most Majors with 61. (Macgregor 59)

a mate swears by wilson balls, today played with DX2 soft. Gee it was a nice ball, loved it from first drive sent sailing down the middle, felt great off the face and was plenty soft coming down on the hard green from elevated tee, parred 2 of the Par 3 today.
