Took a bit of digging,

Can’t believe Toowoomba City Golf Course isn’t mapped.

Thanks TTR for the tip on the apple batteries and charger.

Thanks for the heads-up on this device. Too late to get it at the $103, but still available at $129 which is still great value.

Cheers.

It appears to go up and down fairly regularly on the JB Hi Fi website. It was $129 just before xmas, then dropped to $103 for a couple of weeks, then went back up to $129 again but last week was back down to $103.

It’s a great little device. I don’t know whether you wanted to wait a week or two & see if it comes back down again?

Yeah, I’ll do just that. Just in case.

Just remember they’re clearing out stock. You wouldn’t want to wait to save $25 to miss out on a unit that’ll cost more to match.

Great device. I’ve played 4 rounds now beside my friend who has a bushnell range finder which he gets the pin with. Due to colours I can determine if the flag is front, back or centre. (Marks that are standard on the GPS) it’s been at most a 3m difference to him on the pin.

Damn, I should have brought shares in Garmin or at least JB Hi Fi. The number of ISG members buying this little toy..

No, I am not a bandit! I do not shoot 47 points!

Bloody legend thanks heaps for the tip. Just purchased mine

UL, you should drop them an email request to map Toowoomba City. I can’t understand why it wouldn’t be there. It’s a fairly major course. Their list of mapped courses is extensive.

You may also need to ‘upgrade’. Just follow instruction book and you’ll get extra courses by going online. It’s free to get updated courses. :)

Emailed them about City- waiting for a reply.

Bought my unit at $103 and now waiting for it to arrive.

true, waiting to save $25 and missing out altogether would be lame…

Might have to head to JB today…

No probs. Your local JB Hi Fi may not stock them, so it could be a wasted trip. The online sale has free shipping. Save yourself the trip. The link to the sale is in the first or 2nd page of this thread.

I see Harvey Norman have them for $129 now too.

Not delivered though.

Not available at JB any more – cannot find it on the website. Also could not find it in store.
Seems to be available at HN though, even though I did not see any units in store.

Could be a clearance item. Wonder if it will be restocked, or if Garmin are planning to update it with another model?

Already updated. I’d say this is the clear out.

Took my own advice and research and bought one last week from Harvey Norman. Grabbed the last one available, so clearly a run out sale of these.

Used it yesterday at Devilbend and am wrapped with it.

To update my Garmin use. I still find its biggest asset is shot measuring and distance to centre. A mate uses a bushnell laser rangefinder and the Garmin is pretty accurate for middle front and back flag distances I’ve matched him with.
The one thing I invested in was rechargeable batteries. I got eveready ones.(4 batteries and charger)
The dura cells I used where two rounds max. Rechargeable 4!

+ 1 on the everady recharagable! 3 – 4 rounds.

Drummond currently have Garmin Micro GPS for $97, save $123. Basic black and white text-only unit, no graphics. I’d rather have the Approach G3 but some people don’t care.

Bought the G3 from HN at Woodville today $129. They seem to have a few more on the shelf if any one is still looking for one of these.
