Now back to the club – the headcover could be better. Colours are fine, but it needs a hook, or a catch, to make pulling it off easier.

I’ve been wrong plenty of times TG. It’s just that your proposition about McIlroy is so patently absurd it beggars belief. You’re a Titleist fanboi. Heck, that’s okay but let’s keep it real. We’re only talking about a change of clubs. They don’t have magical qualities.

Don’t be fooled by TTR’s tactics of manipulation Goldy. He shot me down in an arrogant and authoritative way and I decided to defend myself…he ain’t no victim.
Worst of all, so far I’m right:
1. He swapped for the money (Bushy is still in denial about this)
2. His game is likely to go backwards, given it was so good before.

It’s a very brief review but just “get stuck in” and watch. End result is not surprising.

Maybe, I’ve always found it can be unreliable with the sound over a microphone. The golf on tv is the perfect example. Sometimes it sounds like a cold top but ends up 300+

Good news however, Fergo has let me know mine is in from the Nike custom shop and on its way here. Maybe next weekend (fingers crossed) but more than likely the following week. WOOHOO! !!!

OK, so I finally got to try both the Performance and the Tour drivers with stiff shafts at the driving range:
1. The Tour does not look all that smaller than the Performance.
2. I hit the Performance much better. Solid hits; good straight shots. Feels similar to Callaway Razr Fit Xtreme, but is longer.
3. Launches quite low. I started at 9.5 degrees, but much better ball flight and distance at 10 degrees.

Average carry was between 220 and 240 yards for me with spin as low as 2400rpm. Unfortunately (for Nike fans), I prefered the feel of the TaylorMade R1 – a little hotter off the face. Distance was about the same (maybe slightly longer) at the same loft, with spin going down to 1800rpm. What sealed the deal was a long straight drive that registered a 286 yard carry.

I now have a lone TaylorMade R1 driver in my bag full of Nike equipment! Many thanks to all on this forum, and to Pete Harrington for his club fitting and in being so patient while I tried to make up my mind.
