I got a link from Jason Sobel showing the new ad featuring Phil and the new driver….perfect timing, you couldnt script it any better if you were in marketing. The RBZ 3 wood is a funny one…

And whats the $$’s for us plebs down here bushy?? Did they give you an indication of that??

No sorry. However I would guess there’d be a heavy markup on the $299 Performance and $399 Tour (US prices) Just watching a weekly fix Crossfield vid. Seems the Covert is already in his bag, check after 8:00. Using it for a demo on tee height, bit hard to miss that thing..

Got an email from Fergo. He is selling the performance model at $242.05 and the tour model at $324.30. Shipping should be around $45. That’s a whole lot cheaper than the Australian retail prices.

Thanks for the info mate.

Fergos price list is pretty revealing of the state of the Australian import and retail industry. If we can get an item from the same place as our local stores, why are we paying up to $100+ less than what we’d pay in said stores plus getting properly fitted at the same time?

Actually it’s an indictment on Australian importers of goods from the US. It would appear cheaper per unit to ship a single club direct as opposed to a container filled with gear to retailers to then on sell. Seems Mr Brosnan has a shithouse finance department.

Mr Brosnan’s memory would be long with regard to the fortune he made from importing Big Bertha drivers into Australia years ago.

Well I just heard from a good source that the reason we dont get the fitting and custom options from Nike here is because Nike themselves wont allow it- or made a decision not to allow it.. Either way I dont understand why they would hamstring themselves like that. On a brighter note, Covert Tour w KK Silver 60 coming my way… Thanks Fergo.

I am very interested in your testing of Tour model. Mine is getting delivered tomorrow, and I will be home next Thursday to hit it. Went the performance model with the Fujikura Fuel. Cheers,

No worries. He has said the kiyoshi I have in the D3 is 90% the sameflexprofile as the KK Silver so it should come down to the head. Im reading about alot of guys with similar swing speeds as me getting the best out of 11.5 & 12.5 degrees of loft. Will let you know either way. Just a tiny bit excited…I’ve never bought a club ‘sight-unseen’ before.

Bushy how are you going to set it up?
Probably both, I have access to a flightscope so I will get on that ASAP. If I cant get on it straight away I’ll be hitting the range and having a blast trying to see what works. Of course I’ll give some opinions or observations when I do.

That’s the dilemma of buying an adjustable club off the net
Yeah, or the best thing about it. Obviously shaft is important but the KK Silver being very close to my fitted shaft means I’m not overly worried. Just really keen to get it on the monitor and hit it. Who doesn’t love shiny toys? ?

If you think it looks good in photos, wait till you have it in front of you. A stunning looking club.
Stop teasing… I have to wait 10-12 days as it is.

To further answer your question, I spoke to my pro and as soon as it arrives we’re going to have a decent session on the flight scope to get it tuned to “perfection”.

I’m not particularly proud of it but I’ve done it the other way a couple of times: went to the shop first, got tested then bought them on line. All up saved about $200 on the Nike driver and 3/W and about $400 on the irons/wedges.

Don’t lose a wink of sleep mate. You should see the car that Dennis Brosnan drives.
Yep, i would paint over that ‘tick’.

Only problem with that is there is no fitting for Nike gear in Oz unless you do it aftermarket. The advantage I have is I’ve been custom fitted so I know my specs, simple case of getting a comparison done. I wish I didnt have to buy from an OS supplier but if they can’t supply it here, what else are the options? Really?

I was in Golf World today having a look & in turn having the sales spin put on me. Being quoted that the Covert Tour driver is in the $500 range when it hits the store on 1 March. “Yeah right, Dorothy …”
