I was at the Volvik Masters yesterday and followed the group that had Kristie Smith in it. She was using the VRS Covert driver. Man, that thing is stunning in real life (the driver, that is). Great sound also. I started to get the “Ho sweats” just looking at it.

I’m waiting for Mark Crossfield to put up his review whenever that may be. Should be good.

Crossfield’s vids are good value. He loves his Mizuno and Nike gear. Bums me when often picks Mizzy irons/Nike drivers over Titleist, but each to their own. And his instructional videos make sense…funny looking fella though:).

Yeah this site’s forum software hasn’t been updated in 14 years and youtube didn’t exist back then so it can’t handle fancy stuff like parsing a pasted video link.
If I could have any professional golfer’s name and any professional golfer’s hair, I would have Robert Rock’s name and Robert Rock’s hair. |

He used a Titleist driver before he put the VR Limited in the bag, what does that say seeing as the majority of his time is spent testing clubs? My impression is that his brain doesn’t have an “anti-brand” chip, he tests a lot and likes what he likes. At least his reviews are honest and filled with data.

I know mate. I’ve seen his 910 D3 Vs Nike VR Pro driver video. Not saying anything against Nike (I was previously using a VRs driver) or against Mark’s opinions. Just each to their own, as I said. For me, that’s Titleist. He does give pretty honest reviews – only dodgy review he’s done (that I’ve seen) was for the Razr Fit driver. He didn’t slag it off per se, but spent a fair amount of time slagging off Callaway for not sending him the club to review. I watch his video all the time – much better than similar stuff on the Tube…

Sorry, thats not what i was trying to get at or infer.. Im using a 910D3, have been since launch, what I was getting at is his opinions when comparing gear is that most things released these days are very similar in terms of specs or performance and it always invariably comes down to look, sound, feel preferences. Take for instance the hooplah on Rory’s change of clubs and the comparison he did for both the ball and irons. We all know there will be differences in the look, feel, sound stakes but Mark kind of proved that each club produces the same numbers when struck similarly. I personally find him to be the most trustworthy or at the very least- less biased- golf reviewers on the net. He is, after all, the reason I sourced a cheapish used VR Pro driver to go up against the D3. If I can get my pro to put my Kiyoshi shaft into the Nike tip I’ll be a little bit better armed at making the choice.

Will be more interesting when he compares it to his old driver.

When do they go on sale in Australia?
|
|
I can’t wait for his follow up videos where he compares the Covert Tour vs his VR Pro LE.

I dare say Golf Mart/World. would be the go They’re hardcore about their Nike gear. They might even be the only retailer that stocks Nike clubs…

Golf World/Golf Mart are the ONLY places in Australia that are permitted to stock Nike golf clubs. Apparell is different but clubs-BUH-BOW-no good. Just spoke to my local GW and they say March 1st.

Same here. It would be good if he does a few different comparisons. His Youtube channel is filled with people asking for an across the board driver comparison for this year and I would have to agree with them. His brief review of it this morning was a positive in my eyes… Cant wait.

Just spoke to my local GW and they say March 1st. Mine should be here early next week. Performance model with the Fujikura Fuel shaft in S. I am home in 2 weeks, VERY looking forward to give this a hit. It’s a shame they don’t share the love to other shops – my nearest Golf World is 3 hours away, and all those cashed up golfer’s in WA ain’t got anywhere to go for a slap of it… Cheers,
