Oh and the headcover isnt that bad… It could do with that loop to pull it off but its a very “Covert” looking hc. It’ll stay on for now with the stormtrooper moved to 3w and the eagle relegated to the spare bag looking after the D3. All around, I’m very happy.

Good to see that the initial testing was encouraging Bushy.

Bush, You’ve probably mentioned this earlier in the thread, but how much did you pay for the Tour through ordering it direct from US? Much better than the $500 they’re asking here? I hit the Tour in Power Golf today – such a sexy driver! I’d probably need the bigger head of the Performance model – I’m using a D2 at the moment – but the Tour Covert looks soooooo much better than the Performance. Golf World dudes told me they can only sell the Covert with the stock standard shaft, while in the US they’re selling them with heaps of shaft options… . I’ve hit both versions inside, but would love to have a crack outdoors…. . Anyone know of any pro shops in Sydney that stock Nike gear?

Heres the booklet that comes with it. As someone mentioned earlier there is a massive booklet with 10 million language’s in it which says the same as the 3page fold out booklet plus a Nike specific torque wrench.

I also should mention the flex loft is genius. No matching numbers and letters or complicated diagrams just 5 different lofts and L, N or R face angle. I’d advise care as I’ve heard stories of over zealous users thinking it just jams together similar to the Titleist or Callaway ones. However you have to be pretty simple if you can’t work it out.

I thought Golf World were the sole distributors of Nike Golf. I recieved an email from House of Golf advertising The Covert driver. What is the go with that?

Axis Golf is the Aussie distributor (owned by Brosnan Golf- which in turn owns GolfWorld and GolfMart) so I would guess that they can supply anyone but for a little bit (or a lot) extra to keep themselves ahead of the pack. Edit that is if Brosnan doesnt already own Power Golf and HoG…?? How much do they want for each at HOG and Power Golf?

Some good news lads – looks like tips will be available soon. Check out Golfworks: Rumour is end of the month (along with the Amp Cell Driver adapter) Cheers,

Axis does wholesale to other retailers; eg. Victoria Park Golf Course in Brisbane. I’ve had Golf World retail employees whinge to me that the wholesale arm in essence competes with the retail arm by supplying retailers in competition with Golf World outlets. Ce la vie.

$80?? Goodness me!!
grooveless, the only way to play golf…… now a ’groove-snob’, and never going back!! :) |
|
Appears the same price as GolfWorld. $349 for the performance $449-$500 for the tour-depending on who you speak to :) If tips are going to be $80pp- I’ll pull my own if need be.

They were $35 plus postage – an order that small would be $45 all up. More importantly, they are available unlike the old Str8-fit adaptors. Hopefully will start popping up on eBay at R11 adaptor prices. Cheers,
|
|
Yeah your right Ben, at least Nike themselves are offering them. I suppose $45 isnt that bad for a genuine adapter. Cheers mate.

You will have to get one, Bushy.;)
Totally ignorant about almost everything except golf. |

Took me ages to get used to white, red with the white swoosh just seems annoying…
Open the door and the flies swarm in, |
|
I have an R11s 3w, and the Nike is far easier on the eye at address. Like most people on here who have one – you only remember about the “swoosh” being an issue after the round when reading comments on the net… Cheers,
|
|
Honestly you don’t even see the swoosh at address. The Nike R&D guys (tom Stites I think I saw) actually tried to demonstrate that there is scientific evidence to suggest that once the eye is focused on the ball it is physically impossible for the eye to see the swoosh. Coupled with the red top and the black face it is very easy to look at. For me, it has been easier to adjust to the red than it was to adjust to the white of my fwy woods.

Yeah the eye can only focus on a very narrow spot when looking at anything, the rest is out of focus so if you’re concentrating on the ball and clubface there’s no way you’d notice the swoosh unless you moved your eye off the ball
|
|
Ditto to both.
