Just flip’n thru the latest JB Hi-Fi catalogue and look what I stumbled across.

Anyone seen this before? I know I seen something similar in a post here a few days back where you plug a sensor in the butt of the grip

Jb Hi Fi….who would’ve thought?

Seems useful on the surface, pick me up one would you?

is it even accurate? How can a glove measure posture. Sounds ridiculous.

I don’t think any training aid would be legal in comps Madam?

Oh yeah…. I forgot about the posture. I doubt it too, I was preoccupied with the fact that Jb were selling golf products. How long until Harvey Norman get on board?

I might ask the Mr Whippy van if he’s got anything golf related to sell next time he drives down the street!

reminds me of the scene in “Tin Cup” when the chick rocks up for a lesson with a shit load of gimmicky paraphenalia. This new device is for golf….thousands will buy it….just like thousands have bought gps and rangefinders. Absolutely none of it is necessary to actually ENJOY this wonderful game of ours. Sorry guys….I’m a tad old fashioned…love the game but I don’t believe we need all this technology. A set of clubs, great mates and a bit of sunshine….’tis all you need.

Consultancy….if you’re not part of the solution, there’s big bucks to be made prolonging the problem.

Don’t forget the ability to laugh at yourselves and your mates as well :-)

How about you start up a Mr Golfy van and I provide you with stack of cheap copies from China. We can wrap it up very exclusively and make a bloody fortune !! Have a good weekend.

It also measures Azimuth

which the Oxford dictionary descibes as:

the direction of a celestial object from the observer, expressed as the angular distance from the north or south point of the horizon to the point at which a vertical circle passing through the object intersects the horizon. the horizontal angle or direction of a compass bearing.

which in english means SHITE

You’re just jealous because the voices only talk to me

Not a crazy as it seems, see here:

Wonder which part of the swing this fits into.

There was another one mentioned in a thread here recently. I little jigger you plug into the butt end of your club and it transmits everything via bluetooth to your phone.

Not bad china, think it’s been done…except it was maryjane sold from the van and it was a cheech & chong movie.

Mr.Golfy…..has a nice touch to it ;)

I don’t mind this one Stink…..somehow seems a little more logical/accurate – that and I can’t see how they can work out posture with a sensor fitted to a glove!

What does posture matter anyway? It’s the movement of the club that’s vital. Your posture is only how you position yourself in order to achieve that club movement. Although we all have the same basic skeletal and muscular components, we are all different.

As for azimuth, the angular distance from north or south means nothing unless you also know the direction of the green (or other target).

I have a Swingbyte and it is amazing. Showed my wife clearly casting and coming over the top making it much easier for her to correct. Ruthlessly called my fades slices which upset me a bit!. It was right though and by seeing the face to path angle change as I made small swing changes I have corrected that.
It registers target path as a right angle to your club face at set up. If you have your club face 10 degrees closed at setup but return it square it will think you are 10 degrees in to out swing path and 10 degrees club face open to path. That’s a total of 20 degrees club face open to target. So you have to be careful to set the club face square at setup.

I will get one, use it for 5 days then sell it!!

LOL…

Golf is only a game…Yeah right who are you kidding?

Seen this product reviewed on the Golf Show the other day. Seems like a good device to help the high handicapper to watch there swing plane and where they mite be going wrong. I’ve been thinking about getting one just to help me see what my instructor has been telling me and that I’ve been following his changes. And as I work FIFO no one on site really want to watch my swing when there’s beer to drink at the mess…
