All of the Aldi stores in Victoria Kiwi, I own them! Yeah right, as if. No, just another hard working tradie who appreciates quality at the right price. We’ve bought a lot of different things from Aldi, including electrical equipment and like any store, you get the occasional faulty product, but unlike some other stores, we have never had a problem with an exchange, or refund, if there was no more of the same item. I’d like to know if Smergen, or anyone else with a negative opinion about the Crane golf clubs, has actually tried them?

trekar smergan didnt have a negative opinion on them at all he basicaly was saying for a golfer that is only going to start out or only play a hand full of games a year a set from Aldi will be adequate for them I often thought that those that thought they would enjoy the game but however lost interest or found the game wasnt for them and brought a 100 buck set of golf clubs that are now sitting in the garage rotting away or they had had to sell them well below what they paid for… That a set like these from aldi where you would be spending very little if you didnt like the game in the end… but however though what i think is quality as to what you or anyone thinks is quality can be a big varible i dont think it matters these days when purchasing items wether ya purchasing from OEM model or a Aldi type product the materials are not what they once was like 20 years ago we are a throw away society and the manufacturers of any product in this world have found ways of making you rebuy later on

I’d like to know if Smergen, or anyone else with a negative opinion about the Crane golf clubs, has actually tried them? As you asked, yep I’ve tried them. Tried hitting BMan’s hybrid a few times out in the field on an actual course. It felt like the shaft was made out of rubber. I reckon the club head came through 5min after my hands. But that was just my swing. I’ve hit the Crane golf balls quite a few times. As I’ve tested many a ball as part of the Test Pilot program for Vision golf, I’ve got a reasonable handle what suits my game. The Crane golf ball felt like a rock with no response. But as I said, that’s just me. I’m a 12 handicapper that plays nearly every week. I don’t believe I’m ALDI (or Crane’s) target audience. Nor do I pretend to be. I think the Hyundai Getz is a rubbish car for my needs. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t suit someone elses. So… anything else you’d like to know?

I would also like to applaud the good work Aldi do in providing meaningful competition, to the Safeway’s and Coles conglomerates of this world. As Wasabipea stated the big boys aim is to basically screw their competitors and indeed their suppliers right out of business, so Aldi offer a good alternative and also a chance to “stick it right up em” as Teddy used to say. We get our pet’s dogfood from Aldi, saving probably $5 a time on a bag of his crap. Like some on here, I have also tried the Crane golf balls, when one somehow found it’s way into my golf bag. It’s not something I would like to hit …..... however Frank swears by Crane balls, and indeed has allegedly just signed a long term golfing contract with them I believe, to use their equipment exclusively. (Frank also wears the Crane compression gear, even when he’s not golfing, and drives a Hyundai Getz.)

:-) You’re a funny pr!@k Gaz. I use to drive a Hyundai but it wasn’t a Getz. I have an Aldi golf chipping net in the cupboard (which I’ve never opened) at home. Might get it out and see how it goes….....probably put a hole straight through it with the first chip?

Can’t wait to see you belting this thru your Aldi chipping net Frank. You might want to pluck it first though ….. .... just sayin.

Thanks for the reply Smergen. It sounds to me like you definitely have a lot more experience with different types of golfing equipment than I ever will. But as I said, I’m not an avid golfer and the Crane golf clubs suit me fine and I use the Crane golf balls as well lol. Before purchasing the Crane clubs, I had only used a second hand set, or hired clubs when I played, so this is an improvement for me. Can I ask some advice please? 1 x Maxfli Titanium Driver, 460cc 10.5° Loft, Graphite Shaft. He’s asking $250.00 for it. Everything is new, except for the Maxfli driver, which has been used twice. Do you think this is a good buy?

You’re not being ripped at that price, but why buy them?

Seems like a good beginner set to me and $250 new is a reasonable price. Have a hit with them and see if they suit you and if you like them or not.

I had the identical set when I started. They’re ok. If you like the look of shovels. I didn’t. But at $250 new….fine.

Their ‘no questions return policy’ is great. My old boss was going camping for the first time and bought a tent from Aldi which he returned and got his money back for after the weekend away. Free rental he called it – you beauty!

I refuse to shop at Aldi. The 2 stores near me both look like they haven’t been cleaned for years. That together with the poor layout (flimsy tables setup in the middle of isles with cheap $2 kids toys) makes it a painful experience.

fan of Aldi, curly fries there are better than the mccain ones.. however – stella is 38/slab this week at Dan Murphys… and that’s 9 litres… so yes, cheap, but being your “only” liquor store, maybe a bit narrow? and for those who call coles and woolies “the big guys” you do realise that Aldi is owned by one of the richest families in the world (including the 10th richest person in the world)...
