just wondering if anyone has experienced any significant differences between these 2 clubs. Big price diff at the mo so want to know if its worth the extra cash for the 09…any assistance appreciated!

gotta love the burner!

You should be able to pick up a 09 cheap as a lot of people are offloading them if they brought a set of TM irons of late. I did this and I have seen others here do that.

From having a look in real life the 09 rakes back more than the 07 to a point. Have not hit either tho, sold mine all wrapped up.

Cheers

Im using the burner 09 and love it…..its no lobger than the 07 model but I reckon its tad easier to shape the ball with even the i reckon the 09 burner feels larger at adress…....

I have mine reshafted wuth V2 (9.5 deg)...I reckon its the ducks nucks now

wouldnt want any other driver…well untill burner 2011 comes along

I reckon though the burner is best with the longer shaft…I have hit 45 inch shafted burner and it was nt as good with distance…my V2 is 46 1/2 inch sshaft and its great

thanks dave 1, i was also asking about putting the v2 into the 09 on another thread you may recalll,

if i can pick up the 09 cheap from live4golf then i can keep my nickent and put the shaft in it after if i think it needs it.

thanks for your help

gotta love the burner!

very interested – notice you have the tour and non tour model – do you have pics? loft of the “tour”
cheers

I have just got the 07/08 TP Burner with a set of sticks, it won Golf Digest Gold medal best tour driver last year in a mag I have at home. I found it pretty easy to hit and definitely long, have only had 1 round with it though.
Interested to hear the difference in the standard Burner compared to the TP also if anyones hit both….......aswell as the 09 models.

I hit the tp model…its just tad open thats all…the 09 burner sits oretty square…..the 07 model looks slighly closed

I just figured why make it harder…..I draw the ball amyway so I dont need a TP…that would make it harder to draw…and I have worked so hard to learn how to draw the driver…..

They are both 9.5 degrees.

I’ll whack photos up on the posts when I get to work.

I”ve got both… I prefer the tour, mind you the tour is 9.5 and the normal burner is 10.5. My ones that is.

Made in Twizel NZ.

I notice RBG are having a sale on Burner drivers at the moment !

L/H Golf, the only “Real” way to play !

really odd thing is the tour model which hello isnt a tour model really is actually more closed than the standard 2009 burner…..

I owned the tour one….nice driver but didnt go as far as 2009 burner ….10 meters shorter…

well i will also let you all know as i just bought both of Live4golfs burners!! Couldnt decide so made an offer on both! Now comes the fun part of finding out which one is better!!!

gotta love the burner!

LOL thats funyy…

then again i used ebay like that for ages hire and try then re sell when i didnt like….

havent changed my gear in ages though…have it where I like it right now…....

I’m going to go against most of the above and say that the 2007 Burner is a much better club than the current Burner (which is still a good club).

I’ve hit them both and I think that the 2007 Burner is the best driver that I have hit, and I’ve hit a lot of golf equipment.

hmm…I didnt think there was alot of difference

I just felt the face feels and looks more closed on the 07 model…for many thats a good thing…that said I never hit the 07 with a V2 in it

suspect it would be great too

Does anyone else have an opinion on this? I’m looking at both the ‘07 and ‘09 at 10.5 Reg – they’re both priced pretty well on RBG but I’ve read alot of comments from people (from other forums/RBG) preferring the ‘07 over the ‘09. I’d like to test them both but I doubt anyone is stocking a ‘07 to be demo’ed.

not much diff for me
I think the burner 07 is still a great performer arguably better

But that’s from hitting at the driving range only

I Prefer Lord Byron Nelson’s Swing
Square is Good, if it’s the right stick !
Good Golf is Fun plus the Great Outdoors…
In the Bag: Clubs and Balls. My Handicap is Bad Golf.

It’d take an awesome driver to kick my 07 Version 1 TP out of my bag.
Haven’t tried the 09 Burner, but I prefer the look of the 07 Burner.

07 Burner…

Best driver I have hit apart from my r7 460.

R9 460 TP is collecting dust in my garage. Burner with a V2 is in my bag to stay, until the next impulse purchase that is….

Well I have just started using a 2009 burner 10.5 deg. stiff shaft fujikura 49gm. for the first time for 18 holes. Was using 2007 9.5 stiff fuji 50 gm.
When hit correctly, it is longer than the old driver. I find I get more tire and could not drive in the last 3 holes.
swing wt. must be more.
Well I have to keep going.

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it’s the right stick !

Better in what sense? Distance, feel, ease of striking?

How much longer is it distance wise?

What about the feel and overall accuracy/forgiveness?

Why do you prefer the Burner over the R9?
