New Tour Burner not for tour players?

A guy in Golf Mart told me this – is it true? Apparently “tour” has been used just to distinguish between the new burner and the old one.

Wait. You mean a company is using the term “tour” to promote a product when it has no relation to real tour players?

More at 11.

Doesn’t happen, if a club or a ball or a glove has ‘Tour’ on it then that club is something the pro’s use…..the fact that anyone can hit these clubs proves that we all belong on the tour.

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

Also note that the burner may or may not actually ignite the ball when struck despite implications otherwise.

There is the Tour Burner, then there is the Tour Burner TP.

And then there are the Tour Burners that the Tour players actually use…

I hit the TP model at a demo yesterday , very impressive but until i find a driver that goes 50 metres longer than the 1 i,m using , i’ll keep my $600 + dollars in my pocket!!!!

I have one that goes 50m further… got that cash to hand?

Reverse every natural instinct you have and do just the opposite of what you are inclined to do and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing. - BEN HOGAN, POWER GOLF

What is it a Grenade launcher !!!!!!!!!!!!

When AB hits it, it goes 50m further…

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?

Hahahaha…. Love that set up Muntz – you are definitely a wasted talent on here! ;-)

Thanks KYC, I think I would struggle to hit a normal length driver now, it feels weird when I grab one these days – like a wedge! May grab one I have here and take it out today for some fun!!

I reckon I have a head that could do that with a good shaft! The N-Forcer 460 punishes the ball!! The one I accidently set up last week with a different spec shaft (softer and lighter) gave me an extra 30-50 metres carry on my drive!

The nice thing? You could buy 3 of them with that $600 and get a lifetime warranty on them!! ;-)

Feel it, execute it, live with it.

WOW…Accidently get 30-50 extra metres CARRY on my drives
for only $200!!!

Where do I sign up?

hahaha… You don’t, about the only thing I would want to see someone share with you Hibore is a good dose of syphillis!!

Feel it, execute it, live with it.

Hey A_B,

I know you use some specialised gear to focus on your LD ambitions, but just out of curiosity, have you any idea what your average driving distance would be with normal gear? Or what about your LD gear?

I played with a guy a little while back who slammed it about 300m as best we could figure. But I doubt he was anywhere near your standard.

He had very solid forearms and landed one just beside the green on a 330m par 4, but we weren’t off the back markers.

I’m thinking about going out to RSO on the 17th to see you in action and learn what I need to do to hit it 280m, other than use a grenade launcher. They are illegeal under the rules I assume :-).

Hey Norm,

Not much less mate, I will take out a normal driver for practice this arvo and fill you in exactly later on. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about long drivers and long driving. It is not our equipment that makes us longer. I personally hit a normal 3wd about 280+ and a 4 iron would carry 220+ (I have flown it 250 on optimal weather days)

Mike Dobbyn has a $1000 challenge for anyone who can out drive him with a 29 inch driver which he hits 310yards (280m)

The equipment we use have to pass the same USGA CT/COR testing as regular golf. Our drivers measure no more than 48.5” in USGA measurements (we measure vertical max 50”), my favourite driver is 49” vertical which equates to USGA 47.5” so yes I could use it legally on a golf course in golf competition.

Grenade launchers, cannons and shotguns are against the rules though, unless you are playing with Hibore.. then please FIRE at will!! lmao!

Look forward to seeing you on the 17th! There will be a Long Drive clinic around lunchtime where the guys will talk about equipment and training for driving distance.

Hey AB perhaps you may wanna to consider doing this for a 1000 bucks…..
bet you can outdrive him with your NFORCER !!

just kidding :))

lol…. 6 inches shorter than a wedge… 310 yards? I think the $1000 is safe! ;-)

I have a Macgregor NVG2 ‘Tour’ 9 deg. with the factory stiff flex shaft. It seems to hit the ball pretty well. I average around 250m some times up to 270m on a good fairway.
After watching other golfers at the range I noticed my ball flight height would be half that of most of the guys at the range. Should I think of changing shafts to get more height and possibly more distance or are the 2 un-related?
The ball flight is generally very straight and climbs up slowly and starts to drop at it think around 180-200m.
Other times my driver could be mistaken for a huge arse wedge, dropping and stopping at around 100m.
Any ideas?

Getting a lesson from someone qualified probably wouldn’t hurt, the person giving the lesson will be able to be a lot more specific to your needs.

Besides 250m+ if it’s straight is a pretty good start; but in general terms if a piece of golf equipment says ‘tour’ or ‘flighted’ or something like that then it will tend to have a lower ball flight or a lower spin rate.

Distance and height are related up to a point, but you also have to factor ball spin rate, launch angle, club face loft, ball position amongest other things.

You could try changing your ball position to something a bit further forward so that you hit the ball on more of an upswing. But a lesson from Pro will also address set-up etc to help with your ball flight woes.

Thanks, I really should have a go at lessons. I used to have them for about a year when I was 11 but I gave the game away for Rugby and didn’t pick up a club again until I was 24 (2 years ago).
I’m in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area, know any good coahes around here?
