Callaway 1 driver head, two shafts

has anyone bought one of these? IMO it makes no sense one head with two shafts. In my experience most people have one golf swing and therefore should be fitted for that swing. I understand what they are trying to do ie pick the shaft for the conditions but they change constantly esp in Melbourne. IMO very overpriced and not of much use. Comments

overpriced – correcto not in my ally at this poin
If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ? |

Lets face it – its just another gimmick that will make the “haves” want one

I think there is some merit in the concept for players who are very good (and have deep pockets). For the average players I think there are too many other variables in their day to day play for there to be any measurable benefits. Oh and by the way its not only callaway who are doing this nickent have a simialr product. Other makers like Taylor Made have said they have something coming and I am sure everyone else will be doing it too.

Callaway have already dropped the price in the USA by $100. Does not seem to be selling well. Time will tell.

As I said before these are potentially good for elite players. The problem for the manufacturers is in order for them to make sh.tloads of money from it rank and file hackers need to jump on board with it in much the same way as people tookup Titanium drivers. But unless the prices drop by a lot I can’t see how its going to happen anytime soon. What I do like about these drivers is how easy it is to change a shaft. Maybe one day most drivers will be sold like this. And if this happens it will make testing and changing shafts a much easier and cheaper proposition.

agreed for the average punters exp hcp in the mid teens & above no diff at all assuming the driver is fitted well in the first place guess they are running ot of marketing stuff the 460cc

a lot of ppl i know have 2 or more drivers, and depending on how they are hitting on the day, and conditions on course, will pick between them. plus, changing shafts will no longer void manufacturers warranty on clubs.

Taylormade have one driver head (Beast) with three shafts in which they claim to give over three hundred options including adjustable weight technology. What a stuffed idea!!!!! Wondering if you will be busy playing golf or mucking around with your driver configuration.. But I must admit, I was tempted to get one as the packaging looks serious, plus it is limited edition…. Thank God as the Misses was there

Regardless of how good you are, there really is little or no point in having two shafts, as you only can use one throughout one round, like the adjustable weights in drivers, etc. More “elite” players probably don’t even need the different option of a diff shaft due to the fact they prolly can play a low shot if needed, or what not. Plus they prolly have drivers that do that anyways :o

absolutely keep more than 1 driver lousy constion use your square haed driver etc

How do you quantify the wank factor….priceless IMHO.

I seem to remember that the “through-bore hosel” was the big selling point for Callaway Big Bertha Drivers. I have looked at the new drivers and shaft no longer goes through the club-head. Just bolts on to the top. Does that mean that the earlier “technological leap forward” was just marketing hype (AKA BS).

Why not, I had been fitted for a Ft 5 and had decided to purchase, I thought for an extra $90 why not give myself the ability to change shafts at some point in the future if I wanted to.
|

unless your swing changes dramatically you’ll never use that other shaft so you have wasted $90. Even if it does change the extra shaft you bought may not suit anyway. I think you did the right thing and got fitted for a driver and bought it. Why the extra shaft you already have the one you need in the driver you were fitted for?

You should now officially be p**d off with prices on callaway plummeting 600 one day and 399 the next

There is only 150mm difference between a good shot and a bad shot, and that’s the distance between your ears. Once clubs are fitted to your swing there is only one piece of equipment you should change and that’s your ball. Changing shaft’s is just another distraction to what is really important in a golf swing…..”watching the ball”...
