Has anyone bought a Scotty Cameron Putter of Ebay and if so was a lot cheaper than the shops and not a fake and do you still have the sellers details so i can buy one?
I just bought one this morning….Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 2.5 cost about US$100-$150 less than a store…I’ll let you know what it is like but I know it is not fake as a mate bought from the same bloke…..I’ll pick it up next week and be back in 2 weeks….hang around a bit to see how mine works, you might get it cheap off me :)

Cheers mate that’s gold!

Hi mate I bought one on ebay from America for just under $A300, a Newport style brand new. I don’t believe it’s a fake; certainly feels good. Pity it hasn’t turned around my putting woes!

I know of a bloke that imports ex demo and used pro USA scotty cameron putters if you are interested in contacting him, he will usually sell them for around the $150-$300 mark depending on the model etc

Got a studio style 1.5 from edwinwatts for $299 US.

with something as important as your flat stick would you want to test drive it first?
backmarkers23…yup you can test them all you want in shops here and then go buy elsewhere….

Can i get his details, i’am interested in the new studio mid slant or a Newport 1.5
hmm normally I would say yes, but my current putter I bought just by picking it up, SOLD! Serious, I didn’t try it at all, just held it in my mitts….I haven’t found anything that feels or rolls the ball better in the 18mths I have used it, I love it to death and I only paid 70bucks for it… White Hot, Odyssey. I have picked up other Odyssey putters that feel as good, which is nice because I can at least replace it when it wears out…. the odd Scotty Cameron feels as good too, but not better.

I went to drummond, had a putt with a Studio Select 2 midslant, figured I liked the feel but wanted less offset, so ordered a 1.5 off the net…Have been putting great guns with it.
That’s the direction i was thinking, currently been using a Ping Answer for the last year with Plumbers neck and consistantly pulling up short, think i might try a 1.5 with less offset, might get a better roll on it!

Just be careful with the Studio Style putter. They are a lot of fake in eBay.

Does anyone use the Scotty Cameron Red X putters and if so what do you think?
Mate, i think they are awesome, still waiting for maxfli_black_max to give me his mates contact details?
you know the putter I got on ebay that was definately not a fake? – turns out it is…and a poor one at best. steer clear of mrmomauctions. I am chasing this up through PayPal and forwarding details to Titleist…..sad I was really looking forward to having a Scotty.

I got myself a RedX2 when they first came out to Oz- about 4yrs ago? Unfortunately paid full retail but very happy with it. Anyway I dropped from 11.7 down to 7.2 in about 2 mths…Needless to say I was very happy to the point where I sold all my other putters and use nothing but the X2. I chopped it down from 35” to 34” and added a 10c piece to the sole plate. There’s a little machined out hollow in the plate to change the weight of putter when you change the shaft length. If you look on the sole plate it tells you the weight change for the various shaft lengths. You add 10gms for every 1” you cut off the shaft. That’s if you want to keep it at Scotty’s recommended weights anyway? I also started putting left hand down when using the center shafted X2. I noticed a lot of pros who use a center shafted mallet do this, so I tried it out. For me it lets me feel like I’m releasing the putterhead better…Give it a try? Oh yeah, I remember reading an interview with Jack Nicklaus and they asked if there was anything he would have liked to have changed about his game. He replied the only thing he would’ve done would have been to putt left hand down.

OK, here are some photos of the fake Scotty and explanations of what is wrong (photos taken with my phone, sorry about the poor quality but you get the picture…pun intended): This first one is of the face….the insert is supposed to be an insert and NOT look like the rest of the face, as you can see the insert has been defined by a hollow being bevelled out and painted white, also the red ‘TItleist’ is not supposed to be scrunched up in the corner…and it is supposed to be straight: This is the grip…a REAL Scotty does not have white dots in the Studio red grip: This is the cavity..you can see the poor alignment of the C and the ON..also the M is too wide and the white paint-fill is sloppy: The headcover is just plain WRONG (Scotty Cameron and Studio Select are supposed to be neat and are also a smaller font on real headcovers): The Tileist on the headcover is supposed to start where the second t is on this headcover: True Temper labels are not on original Scottys: Also the specs sticker is on the front of the shaft, they are supposed to be on the back….and real Scottys do not come with plastic on the heads. So when you see a good deal make sure you get good photos of some of these things so you can do a better job of picking up an original Scotty than I did….... ...Sucker signing off…..
