Im looking for a good place in Melb to get my driver reshafted, does anyone have any recomendations? Also im thinking of getting a Proforce V2 anyone used these?

Am a Melbourne boy but can’t provide you with the direct details of where to go as you can’t advertise businesses on ISG. If you leave your contact details, Im sure someone could help you.

Be careful of major stores as they will not usually do the most optimum job and will charge you an arm and a leg for the priviledge. You want to find a good independent club fitter who will actually help you maximise your shaft choice and fit based on your golf game, not what they want to sell.

Proforce V2 is a very good shaft, I have only personally used the Long Drive model though. It has a great kick and a good feel when swinging. There are endless options available to you though so shop around with shafts and find out what is available for the swing you have and the results you are looking for.

Hope this helps,

AB

I would give Rob at Protuned Golf in Ashburton a call. He knows his stuff and provides excellent friendly service. I bought my irons off him and also had my driver reshafted with a UST shaft. He stocks Proforce V2 from what I can remember.

I had some work done by clubtech in Coburg. Nice guys and good value. You will find quite a few positive comments about them in the forum.

I Agree!

I have all my high end stuff done by John and Garry, they are great, and good value, also use Tour Epoxy, so they do it while you wait, which is handy if you dont live in the area…

I use to use that place in coburg too until they burnt one of my driver heads. Also they shaved down one of my diamanas(.350 tip) to accomadate the driver head I wanted to put in, without asking me first. Any good clubfitter knows shaving down a shaft is a NO NO.

So to caddyshack1, I would buy a shaft extractor, can be had for around $80, buy a v2 shaft off ebay, and learn to pull and install shafts yourself. The extractor will pay for itself in no time. Ive used 2 part 5 min araldite for a year with no probs.
