Okay fellas, my hogan and mizuno wedges aren’t quite what im looking for; they aren’t gripping the ball well enough and 3-pieces are going rolling away with little or no check.

Vokeys! Absolutely magic clubs. I heard somewhere that Harry Potter personally charms each one. ;)

Funny, Would of given mr vokey his walking orders. Had he taken the job. With vokeys you are doing one thing only paying for the name. I.M.O Matlby makes some s#it hot wedges.

vokeys, simple as that

i read that cleveland is still the most popular selling i lik the srixon wedges but the milled wedges seem to scuff the balls

I have Clevelands, 51,56 & 60.I have hit most & I prefer Cleveland but its all about what appeals to the user. The two I thought were the best were the Vokeys & clevelands. They were close to the same. I went with the Clevelands as I didnt want to spend the extra for the Vokeys.

They are all nearly the same these days.

Out of the retail wedges i like the SM Vokey’s a lot, spin like crazy. Apparently the Cally’s with the Mack Daddy grooves spin as much or more. Out of the exotic wedges i have a Scratch that is just brilliant. Not quite as much spin as the SM maybe (and that’s maybe) but as an overall wedge just brilliant.

Blah, blah, blah Tom Wishon this, Tom Wishin that. Whatever. If my aunty had balls she would be my uncle.

Hmmm..I have a Wilson wedge that is bent from 64 to 66 and it did not break which was a miracle, it is as old as your Uncle and I have a graphite shaft in it which used to be a driver shaft by the way. It is a great wedge. A Titty Vokey SW that has more rust on it than a Chinese prawn trawler failing immigration and no grooves but it also does the job. Wedges? They are your best friend apart from your putter. Learn to love them and make them dance.
If it is your dream, make it happen.... |

vokey’s spin milled you cant go wrong !
I have the vokey spin milled and non spin milled wedge. The spin milled wedge definitely spin a lot more even too much.

I think I stated that I thought Maltby made s#it hot wedges. For your info I think scottie used enough of karstens designs when he was working for dunlop.

Being a Jap gear freak I have been using a Bridgestone WC Design 52 degree Gap Wedge. Its got the milled U grooves and boy does it spin the ball. Its a cast club and quite frankly i think its an imitation of a vokey. Bridgestone are about to release the Liquid Copper version which I have signed up for the 56 degree and 60 degree and it has the CNC milled face and will rust so i cannot wait to try them pretty much the same as a oil can finish. These will replace my old Tourstage Z56 and Z60 Forged wedges. Golfwrx.com had an interview with the Bridgestone people in USA and they said the reason they went from forged to cast was that most other tour wedges are cast….. just like a vokey…..
who needs driver when a 3 wood will do??? |
i was hoping someone would give their opinion on the wc designs. i’m tossing up between them and clevelands.
2 of my mates use the wc wedges both low handicaps both swear by them
could be a good option then
Nige, do you still have the same email addy?
I use vokeys and for that reason they are the best… seriously I tried all the wedges and the Pelx wedge system was very good but I still think the Vokeys are better (spin-milled)
A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work. |

The new Cally X-Forged’s are awesome, spin the crap out of the ball and the C-grind on some of the models works really well.
from top to bottom, the most spin. srixon I had all these at the same time so I know.
I have used cleveland CG 11’s for about a year and really still like them, but did tryed a vokey spin milled 2 weeks ago for nine holes and loved them also the vokey was the same bounce as my cg11’s but the vokey was bteer of the tighter lies around our hard fairways say 40-10 meters into the green will maybe look at ebay vokeys
