Best Value for money 2nd hand driver

Hello all. Am in the process of upgrading my very old clubs that Ive had since a junior. Was just wondering if anyone had any hot tips on what could be some good quality 2nd hand drivers you can pick up for a bargain nowadays?

There’s a lot of great second hand drivers out there at the moment – none of the big name models have really changed to much bar the intergration of square designs. The G2 (similar to the G5 which is similar to the G10) is a great choice but there’s a whole lot out there depending on your brand/shape preference.

Something like this one looks alright – there’s still ages to go but they generally don’t get many bids and if you can get away with it for around $100pp you’d be laughing.

Callaway BBII415 drivers are great clubs.

Take your pick – all second hand gear is soooo cheap nowadays !! As soon as you walk out of the shop they are worth 50% of their RRP…

ebay…get a top notch driver for 120 most times…saw an FT3 go for $125….

Taylormade R580XD is cheap as chips second time round. You just got to make sure the one you get is the conforming one.

Ok seems i need to refine this further…as can tend to slice my driver a little bit would be looking for an offset or draw version. Any particular good picks in that category?

What sort of price bracket are you looking at?

There’s a lot of fake gear around – a way to avoid fake gear if you’re going second hand is to pick the best offerings from lesser known companies. A good example is the Mactech NVG2 Draw that can be had for around $120 brand new these days.

What I would really suggest is to go out and try the new range of drivers at the range – the Ping’s, Callaway’s, Nikes and whatever else takes your fancy. Once you find the model you like just go back a version or two. There honestly hasn’t been much difference between models recently. If you like the current one, odds are you’ll like the older one just was much as long as you make sure to trim the shaft to the right length and get a high enough loft.

sorry to point something out again I dont think the fake issue is as big an issue as people make out, myslef and sveral freinds use ebay and we shop smart and none of us hav e ever had fakes

like I said before I see fake pro V’s in golf shops and fake clubs at drummond golf!!

yes I callaway driver is listed at buy it now price for $90…yeah its fake but its not that hard to pick them out

anyways another good driver are the admas RPM drivers…dead easy to spank the ball with

others in that goodie but chepaer are wilson staff Pd5 Pd6 DD6….no one ever fakes a wilson, also cobra drivers can be found cheaply too

probably a bigger issue is making sure you dont end up with a non conforming model…check the list
