Which mizuno iron?

After advice on mizuno irons. Im tossing up what model to head for. I play off 12, but i know i can get down to singles in the coming year if i continue playing and practicing. I think im a pretty good ball striker, i hit a 7 iron about 145 – 150m generally. Im not sure whether to go for a MP57 or a blade (MP32 or MP67). I have heard the 32s are easier to hit than the 67s. Even tossing up a combo set, with 3 – 6 in 57 and 7 – PW in 32 / 67. Any one got ideas? How hard are the mizzy blades to hit and what benefit will they give over the 57s? I like the lower ball flight of blades.

The 57’s look fantastic and are workable while still being slightly forgiving. I don’t see why you’d want to move from those to the 32’s or 67’s.

Chris if you miss hit the ball, where do you miss hit it. Heel or toe side?

chevychase, Ball flight means sweet F all? Please go on further.

I would say generally off the toe. My miss hits are generally fat shots.

I am thinking i will go for 57s and then in time the blades may be more suitable.

Bad news. You will need a wider sole to help with the fat shots, and a good cav to help with the miss hits on the toe. think of a round-about. A blade is a round-bout with all its weight in the center. So if the the round about is spinning and you hit the outside of the round-about it is going to easier to stop if all the weight is on the outside (cav back ) If you miss towards the heal side of the iron, the cav will have little or no effect. Blades/ cut mussel with a small offset could posibly help. Up to you though the mx-25 could be the go if you want to hit the ball more consistantly.

A combo set may be the go, but i think a straight set of MP57s will be fine.

Mizuno use to be a great company, but IMHO the marketing gods got to them. MP33 lasted years and MP37 are still going around. MP30 lasted about a week and a half. And the MP 60’s not much longer. I have 2 sets of MP 60’s – the great thing about this marketing BS program that Taylormade started is that the club depreciate like a bastard every time a new set comes out. You can pick up a almost new set of MP60’s and have them landed in your hot little hands for less than AU$500. Global Golf or 3Balls will do that easy as pie. I have hit the new 67 ones in the same config as my own, I bought a couple of irons just to make sure. I am a low marker and I cannot tell the difference between them and the mp60’s. if you do choose Mizuno, save your dosh and get a set of MP 60’s, they are the same club, with some rubbish excuse as to a MAJOR difference. And for the record – I LOVE Mizuno clubs… I have always owned a set of them, but they are a lump of solid metal, and you cannot change a lump of solid metal in between series. Enjoy

i got the 57’s and love em.. .. very workable ..you get into tight lies and hit it clean..cleanish, i found they have a fair amount of forgiveness ( and i played huge game improvement irons before adams GT2) i did not hit the 67’s so i can’t really comment there, they were nearly identicle to the 60’s so i chose the easier option go and hit balls of grass with both and see how it goes.. dont hit off matts cause you wont really know if your hitting it fat i paid 880 delivered from the USA let me know if you want any info .. its an aussie bloke..PGA member who teaches and runs a shop there

Hey NotVirge, what about the AEP’s?
|
|
match up mp32’s with mp57’s in a combo because the sole length (heel to toe) is similar if not exactly the same. 67’s will be a little shorter and may throw you off.
