Shaft for Hi-Bore XL.

Got one with the wrong shaft, a “fit on M gold, 3.8 torque, low/mid kickpoint” in Reg.

You’re surely a stiff even at mid tempo if your 100-105 is measured properly. Have you hit drivers with stiff shafts? What loft is your XL? I have an 8.5* with BB73s and it’s a superb shaft, but expensive. Got my combo uber cheap, shaft is factory installed. The ideal would be to go hit the XL (not neccessarily yours) on a monitor. There’s a lot more info needed to make an informed judgement i think.

Haven’t yet, my fairway woods/hybrid is stiff, but irons and driver are reg.

Don’t jump to conclusions Tom. I know players who swing 115+ who use reg flex shafts (I’m one of them).

Finally got out for a hit.

No it just means that what you think you need & what you actually need are two different things.

I have the normal HiBore and Aldila NV 65 reg shaft and i hit it way too high. Will a stiff shaft cure this problem? Whats the best shaft to get?
Shouldn't I be working.........? |

Yeah, i hit mine too high aswell, but i dont think it justifies a change.

Better to try heavier than stiffer.

Have to agree with Timatldg, go heavier rather than stiffer if there’s only slight unhappiness. Heavier shaft arguably makes it perform like it’s stiffer but you’ll be able to maintain your tempo and still feel like you’re crushing it. I had a 10.5 XL with a stock Fuji red in it and I used to pop it up if I wasn’t carefull. I swing at 105mph and I thought that I couldn’t really use the (stiff) Fuji red shaft also. If the driver wasn’t non-conforming I would have tried the regular Fuji red or the stiff Fuji gold. I now have a 9.5 XLS with a factory fitted Aldila VS proto ‘By you’ in it (Blue colour). It’s a low kick point compared to the Green Aldila and really like it. I put up some posts here: http://forums.iseekgolf.com...
