Forgiving 3 wood

What is a forgiving 3 wood on the market at moment? After something with a bigger head and deeper face. I was thinking of a cobra. Anyone hit the mizuno F50 3Woods?

A good mate of mine has cobra 3 wood. Hits it off the T (only). He hits a very long draw with it (he is a off 13). Never uses it off fairway. Not sure what model but can find out for you, it has a pretty tall face and is fairly new.
I use a 3 burner ( 2 rounds old now) Very forgiving. Don’t try to smash it and the yardage is getting scary.

The F50 is more or a “players” design. You could do a lot worse than a Cobra for forgiveness

You can’t go past the Ping G5, G10 or Rapture series 3 woods !!

Get fitted, what is good for one person is not necessarily good for you, may have to have the shaft ‘tweaked’, lie angle changed, and get correct launch angle.

wilson staff fws wood..used it for 3 years very easy to hit

cant slice it!!

I use an Adams RPM with a neutral bias, Prolaunch shaft. Some of them have been for sale in the classifieds. Nice club, very forgiving and good off the tee or deck.

Only time I don’t hit it okay is when I try to hit it to hard and then it tends to hook.

Hope this helps.

Don.t have a 3 wood but do have Cobra f-speed 5 wood. It is extremely easy to hit well.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine

chris9485,

I don’t like using this forum as a marketing tool, however in your pursuit of a forgiving fairway, take a look at the Lind MOJO #3 Square Fairway Wood.

hi tdoddsy … i picked up my F-60 7 wood today. I couldn’t find the serial anywhere on the club head, hosel or ferrule. However, there are two sets of serial number on the shaft. Does your F-60 has the same?

i’ll check that and get back to you

Im in the same boat right now. As a side question, are all 3-7 woods considered fairway woods?

Oh, and more on topic, a friend of mine has an Adams Golf fairway wood, cant remember the model, but that would fit the bill of forgiving. I think quite a few in the adams line might be geared towards forgiveness, rather than Tour-Preferred performance.

Another friend has an older Callaway model which i quite like, i think its a Big Bertha, also might be worth a look.

the new wilson range looks good and priced well as well

as for me I have a TM V-Steel 4 wood – great club.

Another vote for Adams – the Ovation series (non-offset) are very nice. Shallow face, so don’t tee then up too much.

are shallower faces easier to draw the ball with?

they look tiny…never used one but like the TM ones…and yes admas do make good ones also

I have about a 4yr old Cobra SZ 15d 3w with Adila stiff shaft. 180cc head. Great club, goes miles. Haven’t hit the new models but presume just as good.

I reckon Cobra make the best value for money woods

Yes easy to draw. more so the 5 than the 3 wood. Shallow face made it very easy to hit. I used Adams high launch tight lies (with offset) until very recently. Adilia shafts too, Good thing for mid to high h/capper. True don’t T to high.
Are 4 sale to good home

Thanks tdoddsy … I rang the pro-shop where I bought it from and he said the fairway wood doesn’t have serial number. It seems a bit odd.
tried the 7 wood today at Muirfield Golf Club … distance is ok but it’s lacking feedback. I was unable to feel the ball.
