Tried these irons out recently at a demo day, and found them to be quite good. These are the first decent irons i have tried, are all the top end irons simarlar or are some better than others, if so how do these rate.

I didn’t like them at all.Tried the reds to and thought they were very average.
I love Cleveland wedges and woods but don’t like the irons at all.

I’d reccomend you try some Tiileist 755 or 775s.Much better in my opinion…

you are best off trying as much as you can get your hands on

I went to the shop pretty much sold on CG Red’s before i hit them, got a demo to take with me and have a hit. They felt really dead to me, i don’t know if it was the insert but I do know i was not impressed.
Ended up with Titleist 755’s, Did not like the Trispec standard shaft offering so got DG S300’s to match the set i was upgrading.. Recommend having a look at them they are very forgiving, I catch it of the toe sometimes with no noticable difference in distance.

cleveland dont make very good irons. as has been said they make good woods and wedges.

thanks for the opinions. The main reason i tied them was that i have high bore driver, fairway wood, hyrbrid, and cg 10 wedges, and they are great. So now looking to upgrade irons so thought i would give them a run. Just got back from my local range and the guy there was recomending some bridgestone irons, or srixon. It is a hard decision and like every one i would want to get the best i can for my money. The bridgestone irons felt good to, but are blades for 8,9,pw. Have a handicap of 14 whaich is on the improve via lessons, just do not want to buy something to hard to hit, cause off the mats at the range is not a good indication.

the bridgestones your talking about sound like the J33 combo set.. these are a very good set and address the need for players who like blades but struggle with them in their long irons. With your ability you probably catch your short irons consistently enough that you don’t need the forgivness of a cavity back. As you are on the improve you will start to appreciate what you can do with a thin soled blade and it might just be worth having these in your scoring irons. I’ve seen and hit these and they are very good value and well worth a look.
As for the srixon’s if the comments on here about their performance and quality are anything to go be they are well worth a look.. Just ask Jimfuryk

Good luck on your quest :)

and not to mention that both the bridgestone and srixon are forged the new clevelands are not

I dont know why everyone is bagging these clubs if your a mid range capper who doesnt get to practice a lot then they are great clubs, very forgiving on misshits yet still not a game improvment “shovel” are actually quite tradational looking. There are 4 people that use them where i play and they all love them.

I too have tried these irons. Nice head size and thinish topline.
The feel was ok but the shafts also felt to me a bit on the boardy side.
I was going to try the A flex shaft to see if there was a diff after trying these a number of times. But in the mean time i got on to a set of Srixon 601i in grafite on special so i grabbed em.
Not saying they were no good at all but there was just a bit of doubt.
They are certainly a nice set of irons and i have the 3/5/7 w and a hybrid so they would make a nice set.

WITB:
Srixon M steel 3/5/7 woods Ping G10 Driver 12 deg V2 HL R flex
Srixon 601i grafite 3-pw/Sw Vokey 58 lobectomy wedge
Taylor made Rossa putter
Srixon 19/22 hybrid replaces the 3/4 iron’s

Good golfing to you all !!

Im an average golfer and I really like these irons. They help aid and improve my game without looking like they are full on game improvement.

The stock shafts have an extremely low flex point and I got these replaced with DG300’s and that helped me keep the height down on my shots.

I also use the hibore xls driver with a stiff shaft and it’s given me a lot of consistency on my drives.
