I have only been playing for 6 months but have gone through 3 different sets of clubs before figuring out what works for me.
Just recently picked up the 2i putter I was using a Ping Karsten 1959 Anser 2 & was happy but when I was waiting for a friend at golfworld I tried this nike cheap ass thing and could not miss a putt so its in the bag now :)
I sold my Mizuno mp58 Irons 3-PW for my 800 pro’s and could not be happier . begginer golfer + Forged blades = triple digit scorecards :(
although I think all the practice I had with those hard to hit blades has made me mucho better now, heres my 18 hole score’s over the last few months with various clubs. I picked out the 2 best scorecard’s for the par 72 course.

Beginner- cheap cavity back beginner clubs Tommy Armour evo plus. Score = 98 & 108

Few months later – Mizuno mp58’s
Score = 97 & 112

Now – JPX 800 pro’s
Score = 70 & 81
Currently at 21 Handicap and Driving 340 Yard’s consistantly.

I’m a Mizuno irons player. Wouldn’t change to anything else for irons. I’ve tried AP2’s…very good but not good enough. Titleist 910 woods are hot though!

Its smal headed 3 wood and I narrow my stance a bit and hit it like a hybrid – it just goes!!

The razr fit Xtreme was a natrual progression – love the current Razr fit but thought what the hell its my birthday.

I have banging on about the razr fit Xtreme and I have forgotten to mention the Callaway forged wedges I bought and added to the kit last week

just the feel is so so nice – they feel heavy I mean really heavy and you just take it back and let it drop – just produces a lovely lower flight and spin

The C grind is perfect as you open the face on these it doesnt increase the bounce too much.

I am new to the forum and have only recently re-taken up golf. I played twice a week as 13-15 year old and then dabbled from 16-19 playing once every two months and then a couple of times a year since. I have just turned 25 now. As a kid had a handicap of around 24. I would regularly shoot under 50 for 9 holes. I started playing again about 3 months ago using the same equipment I used when I was 20. I have recently bought new equipment.

At the moment I am driving around 280-300m. I have the occasional 315m drive.
I can hit a 4 iron approximately 240m and a pitching wedge 140m. I have only been playing 9 holes at a time however am currently off 12 for the 9. I would like to get to around 10 (for 18) this year.

I am starting to find some consistency in my irons now just need to work on improving my driving.

if you had said I an hit my putter 134 meters we would believ you eh…..

I have trouble hitting the fairway I should clarify. I am 6’4 so have a lot of leverage over the ball.

And how far do you hit a pw Dave? I would guess around 110m so why is it so unbelievable that someone can hit 30m further than you. Not everything is a pissing contest.

I’m enjoying the 240m 4 iron. The albatross that Oosthuizen made at the Masters was a 4 iron from 253 yards (231m) out, and it was downhill and ran up from 20-30 yards short of the hole.

Rhys would have been next to him choking down on a 6 iron based on those numbers.

I’ll believe the 140m PW though. I often hit my PW pretty long when I deloft it during my swing. When I hit it properly it only goes about 115-120.

um Pw for me 110 at most

My handicap is in double digits due to my inability to hit fairways. On the weekend I hit 0 for 9 fairways or greens from the tee yet still scored 49 off the stick for 9 holes. Also razr x blacks have reduced lofts so a pw is 44 degrees.

I do plan to stick around this forum and hopefully will one day be able to roast first time posters aswell.
