3balls second hand or new from Golf Clearance Warehouse

Hi all, Just wondered what your opinion was… I am very new to the game, but have been looking at 3balls.com and ebay. Golf Clearance Warehouse on ebay have a new 2010 Maxfli Lady Jorja complete set (including bag) for 365 plus 30 for postage. On 3balls I can get a mix of good or very good condition callaways and cobras etc for my 400 bucks. What is the best option? Would you guys recommend 3balls over the new set from Golf Clearance Warehouse? Thanks!

3balls if very good or better…steer clear of good.
Hello, 911? It’s Quagmire. Yeah, it’s caught in the window this time. Giggity, giggity, giggity, giggity! |

Thanks for the tip. I take it good is not acceptable? Why so? Is it cosmetic or more?

yeah, pretty much cosmetic….if I was to put numbers against their rating I’d say… I would go with name clubs from 3balls…does your $400 limit include postage?

The postage is the tricky part I think.. probably break the 400 limit. I guess I was hoping to get something new, but can’t afford new Callaways etc.. I know Maxfli make good balls, but clubs? Don’t seem to be able to find a real lot about their club, particularly their Lady Jorja set.

They do tend to rate over ALL the irons and consequently, you can have (say) a sand iron with a deep gouge in a set that’s rated very good. If they mention ANY cosmetic flaws then don’t buy them.

Great tip Simon thanks. I hadn’t thought of that. Anyone purchased clubs from Golf Clearance Warehouse here in Oz? Are they reliable?

look i am only reasonably new to golf myself. I brought brand new clubs and was maxifli. I am very happy with my maxifli clubs.. i know these clubs will not be my last lot of clubs but a reasonable to learn with and i will keep them when i look at buying new clubs in future as when i have friends from interstate or wherever i can then save them bring there own as long as they are right handed or can adapt to right hand if they are leftys… but overall i am happy and the only thing i had to do is have them adjusted to suit me in which should have been done in the first place

Fair point Simon, I have only bought single clubs, never sets of irons. GCW are fine…and really, most clubs are fine…Maxfli make some good ones. I don’t think you can really go wrong

I have expreienced this with global golf also. 5-SW were excellent and as as per rating however 4 iron had a small scratch on toe and I thought it didn’t meet the rating given to the rest of the set. It pays to ask about condition of each and every single club in the set.

Thanks to all.. I am thinking of going with the Gold Warehouse to get me started. I think I could obviously try out 3balls once I am more experienced and clearly to just buy single clubs. One question though, Kiwi you mentioned that Gold Warehouse only sells superceded models.. they seem to be advertising the Lady Jorjas as 2010?? Is this a bit of creative advertising?
