It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Greg Norman play such fabulous shots – reminds me of why he inspired me to play the game all those many years ago…

I don’t think he’ll win but it’s still been such a fantasttic performance… It’s brought back some great memories. The Shark deserved a encore like this.

I do because he’s up there now and everyone is playing like a poo ticket because of weather and the way the course is set – he’s handling that! Wonder how Tiger would have been playing!!

your kidding. winning a major is winning a major. If the shark gets up he will be the oldest ever to win a major. I bet tiger doesn’t stick around long enough to break that record. Personally i would be putting my hard earned on Choi. He has a good build to play in the wind and is a former power lifter so he can generate good length without swinging himself off his feet. And i can’t recall him choking much over the years, someone might correct me but he seems to have a good temperement

bollocks, 10 years from now no one will remember the cat wasn’t there. Are you saying Geoff Ogilvy’s US Open doesn’t count? The whole “Tiger isn’t there!” argument is a bunch of crap dreamed up by people trying to sell newspapers that ordinary folk have taken the bait on. As for Greg Norman, I now hope he does win although it’d be great to see Padraig do the double double. (He won the Irish PGA in 07 and 08 – its played the week before the Open)

The bunker shot in round 2 and the knock-down 5 iron in Round 3 were probably the best shots I’ve seen all tournament. His putting has been on song all week – hopefully he can keep it up.

I wish Tiger was playing at Birkdale because I truly don’t believe he would be up there with Greg Norman – It just seems this Open belongs to Norman – so far so good!
