I was surprised to discover that Ten were not covering the US Open in high definition. Anyone have some information about this?

I’m watching it on ten HD now, recorded on my Mac so I can ff the rubbish, it looks good but now you mention it, doesn’t look like HD to me….probably the yank telecast.

Im in Wollongong and on the digital menu it is advertised on 10HD here but I have had nothing but the test signal all morning and been forced to watch it in standard definition. Very annoying channell 10!!!!

According to the stats on my Mac, the telecast is in MPEG-2, 1920×1080, 19 Mbps, 25fps in Dolby Digital 5.1 etc….

anyone know if their is a web stream – sure i saw a news story saying ten would do one but can’t see it on thier website?

I do like the way ten switches from one feed to the other to cut out the rubbish a bit….

my tv said it was 1080i but then again this might phoney from the TV station

Defending champ Cabrera shot 9 over for the day. Tiger finished at 1 over with 2 double bogeys.. Mickleson finished at even.

I would like to comment how great the quality of the open was,I got it in Full HD and 5.1 channel,,it was awesome,,it was better than the channel 9 promo of HD

I’m a massive fan of sport on TEN HD! Awesome to see them investing so much into golf at the moment as well.

and the playoff is on from 2:30 tomorrow…who is going to be up for it?

I am considering it, luckily i have a tv in my room so I can stay in bed and watch. Just to make sure its on standard definition channel 10 as well isn’t it?

I watched it in 1080i in the UK full HD – does anyone show anything in 1080p?

The most amazing thing was a slow motion replay of Rocco puffing out his cheeks, the tv guys didn’t realise it but there was a fly or mosquito in front of his face and you could actually see its wings beating up and down, frankly it was the best part of the days play!!!!

Glad I slept in then! :)
