Project Drunk Driver!!! Don’t want to ruin the nice Callaways when I’m out with the guys. Air Zevo has the toughest paint I’ve ever seen. I stuck it in a pan of stuff we strip aircraft with at work on Friday and took it out after work today. Only removed the inlayed paint!

Its really not a bad idea. I might need a how-to when you are done so I can do my 3 and 5 woods (where I can see some of the metal already!)

Cutting the tape to fit the shapes of the clubhead is the biggest PITA ever! Gotta draw it out first, then cut, and be prepared to do it again.

I can imagine. What type of paint will you use? And will you use a proper air compressor/painting gun (you know what I mean). Also a clearcoat? Most importantly, will it comply with comp golf or is it now a strictly social stick?

I will spray paint it with the finest spray paint available in my basement, and clearcoat it with the same. Social stick unless I play in a comp, in which case it is my off the fairway driver as it works well, almost like a 3 wood.

kind of reminds me of murals on panelvans really….. Actually i would prefer a full set of clubs with Kevin “F’ing” Rudd’s face laser etched into the clubface…. not quite relief at the bowser but would make me feel warm and fuzzy each time I hit that sweetspot….
who needs driver when a 3 wood will do??? |

I’ve got a driver head painted by this guy: Stuck it away safely, when I can find it, I’ll post a pic. I don’t know if he does them generally, mine may have been a one-off. Brett

I’de be too scared to use one that I got professionally done. I just wanna cheapo job (that hopefully looks good), where it aint the end of the world if I get a sky mark (I said IF!!!).

CRAZY stuff Brett! Would love to see a pic and find out if he does them? Mr C: hahahaha… IF!! Can you imagine getting a wicked custom driver paint job and taking it onto the Long Drive Championship grid??? Would be pretty crazy and get some attention… ;-)

definately. I thought more pros might, but I guess sponsors wouldn’t have it.. They would want their drivers looking as off the shelf as possible.

That’s true too! I think there would be a big market out there for someone you did it!!

So the f$#king paint wrinked when I sprayed it over the primer! Threw the f$#ker on the street and left it for an hour. Made me feel better. I’m just going to polish it to a nice shiney metal now. F$#k the painting.

if at first you don’t succeed… it probably wasn’t worth doing in the first place.

Haha, shame too… did you sand it down at all?

Some of you guys might like these. Really simple to put on, just use a hairdryer. Not keen on them myself but some of the kids love them.
