St Jude is traditionally the patron saint of desperate cases or lost causes, so maybe this is fitting for the last event before the US Open. A big bunch of players are missing, so this marks the trial of a new rule – the alternate. You can now name an alternate for your squad ranked 2.0 points or lower to substitute for a player that misses a tournament. The following players are not in the current field: AU: O’Hern, Senden, Ogilvy, Baddeley, R Green, Flanagan, Walters tddodsy, you are going to be ineligible – none of your squad are playing, so a change and alternate won’t help. Everyone else can work out a squad if they want to by (a) changing a squad member and / or (b) choosing an alternate prior to Thursday night. Alternatively, maybe you want to focus on the US Open instead the week after. A quick heads up that this event will not carry Vision prizes, but will still award money for the overall money list. This is partly due to trialling the alternate rule, but also due to the need to keep the Vision sponsorship within reasonable limits. Welcome aboard to new entrant MegaWatty - Appleby Boo Weekley Chopra JB Holmes. He has 3 eligible players so should be able to get some cash first up with any luck.

New Alternate Rule (trial) In addition to their squad of 4 players, every entrant may choose an alternate in case one or more of their players does not enter a given tournament. The alternate can be valued at no greater than 2.0 points (Official World Golf Ranking points), but his value is completely independent to the normal salary cap restrictions. If your squad currently totals > 10.0 points you may still choose an alternate of up to 2.0 points. The use of the alternate will be automatic as soon as one of your squad is confirmed as a non-entry, as long as your alternate is also in that tournament. However, the alternate will not be substituted if one of your players withdraws or is disqualified after teeing off in the first round. There are no other restrictions on choosing an alternate. He may be of any nationality and can be changed freely at any time before the commencement of a tournament on top of your allocated squad change. To choose or change an alternate, post your total squad with the alternate in the Changes topic providing point values for all 4 squad members plus the alternate.

Please post your entries here: Entries Full rules, comments and questions here: Main Competition Thread New entrants are always welcome, weekly winners receive Vision prize packs thanks to the Boz (but not this week). You must choose 4 players – with at least one Australian, one American and one from another country. The 4 players current World Golf Ranking points (see latest table here) must not total > 10.00… sadly this excludes Tiger and Lefty.

Can I change my alternate at this stage?

muntz, just a thought re the overall comp and the prizes. What about dividing the season up into stages of say 4-6 weeks each. The prizes go to the top 3 for the stage. That would minimise theimpact on Boz’s generosity and also increase the excitement factor a little methinks. your thoughts kjs

Squads with 2 players: Lintz, Upon checking the field list I only have 1 player teeing it up :( Looks like a trade and an alternative so I can hopefully get back in the money!

|
Interesting idea… but how would you determine the top 3? Scores or money or … ?

ParMaster You need an Aussie in your squad, so I’m throwing Jarrod Moseley for you until you can work out what you want to do. Jarrod Moseley – 0.13

Just money, worked out for each tournament and then tallied for the section. That way there is no advantage to easier courses. Instead of prizes for a single tourney you would have a block of maybe 5 or 6 tourneys and the prizes go to top 3/4/5(whatever you have available) for the section. Awards consistency a bit more I guess. I pinched the thought from the PGA tour fantasy. They run their comp in 3 sections.

In the end only 15 squads made it across the line at the St Jude Championship. Not enough to make it prizeworthy in any sense, but I guess we’ll just have to look forward to the US Open to test our squads out. Here’s the Round 1 leaders in case you are interested in who would have won… heybrew again !? But rebjon trying to take back third place again… (oh that’s right, this is just a practice round) -6 rebjon

You can keep them if you want them, or go back to your Memorial squad and make a different change.

St Jude Wrap Well, sorry to all the ISG Tipping Tour on the kerfuffle surrounding the St Jude Championship. Who would’ve thought every second pro would head off for some R & R or range work before the US Open? Here are the final scores, for anyone interested in how they woulda gone. How cool is that – the top 4 on the money list finished T2 or 3. hozel managed to get one of his players into the playoff to post a sub-par score when most of the field finished well into black numbers. hozel: Allenby -4 Slocum +2 Singh -1 -3 hozel

All of which leaves us poised for this year’s second major: The US Open at Torrey Pines (South). Here is the field list: US Open Field And here are the latest World Rankings if you feel a squad change coming on: World Golf Rankings Another reminder: no alternates for the US Open will be permitted. Just get 4 of your squad in the field to give yourself a crack at a cool 2 mil. and a guaranteed top 5 place in the ISG Vision Money List.
