Traveling to play golf

How far do people travel to play golf ? I live at Coral Cove just out side Bundaberg and I use to travel to Brisbane to play golf with some mates but for some funny reason they do want to travel up my way , so I was wondering how far do people travel to play golf with mates.

I travel all over the country to play golf – with the family in tow of course :)

With regard to mates – interstate if need be – just need to get the credit points up first…...

On a more consistent basis – anywhere in the vicinity of a 2 hour drive is a norm for me.

I live less than a minute’s drive from my club, so I don’t need to travel far!

When my new car gets here (June, maybe) I’m planning on loading it up with my clubs and going for a week long adventure around South Australia to drive and play golf :)

Up to 2 hours for me and my mates.

Eek

5 minutes walk (or 40 seconds in the car) to my local club…but I would (and have in the past) travelled a couple of hours for a regular game.

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

I am travelling to Coffs Harbour later this year to play in a comp with some mates at Bonville.(I’m from Sth East Queensland) That’s the furthest I have travelled, been once before to Bonville and loved every minute of it. What a great course and Layout.

I have travelled a lot of australia playing golf, both on my own and on tours. covered most of SA, Vic,Qld, Tas,ACT and NSW. even been to Alice springs.

Best trips though were when i was living in Broken Hill. We used to travel to Coomealla (on the Murray near Mildura) for a game of golf and back afterwards. That is about 600kms round trip. If you waited till the Kangaroos had gone to bed you could put the foot down and get there in reasonable time. Best we did was about 1hr 45 for the 280 odd kms.

One day we hit an emu in a mates Camira on the way down. Broke the power steering unit off its mounts. Dropped the car to the garage in Wentworth, got a lift to the course, rang him when we were finished and got the car delivered back to the club all fixed and shiny new ( apart from the dents in the bodywork). Then off we drove home!!!

some people will do anything for a game of golf.

Travelling to Mackay in a few weeks to play pennants, about a 4 1/2 hour drive 4 rounds of golf & drive back , all in 3 days.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine

usually bout 15 to 20 mins
not that much compared 2 others

I’m in a really neat position when it comes to golf courses – nothing close but I’ve got Morisset and Toukley within 25 minutes by car, Belmont within 20 minutes and Tuggerah Lakes within about 35 minutes.

Ahh decisions, decisions.

Cheers,

Mick

Bah!

Lucky bugger, lived in Morisset Park for a little while in 01, loved it to death… my ex hated it…. should have stayed and sent her back to Canberra.

3 bad shots and 1 good shot is still a 4....
Golf is played in a very small area, the 6 inches between your ears...

One swing to hit the ball,
one swing to find a score,
One swing you bring to all,
And on the fairway find them.

2 minute walk :-) since we moved house, used to be 30-45 mins

Three words – Lucky , bugger, jealous.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish.....

lol @ Cliff – yeah it is pretty awesome – I never really thought about it too much and took it for granted the past few months.

Each of the courses has its own unique challenges but Morisset has been the choice of late – terrific value @ $15.00 for 9 after 3 on a Sunday afternoon and very little traffic on course.

Cheers,

Mick

I’ve just joined Morisset as a social member. Before that I would play on any course on the Central Coast that I could get on. Spoilt for choice we are
