Would love to join a club as a member but most full memberships here on the gold coast are just out of my budget? I know alot of clubs do junior memberships. Does anyone know of any clubs giving discounts to uni students? We are in a limbo too old for junior to poor for full.

My club, Fox Hills GC offers half price to students, be that uni or tafe and high school as well. I guess anyone younger falls into the junior category. Its half the annual fee and they waive the joining fee. Best part is I still get the $50 in bar vouchers :-). I have the same playing rights as full members and its a 7 day membership. Sadly for you its at least 800km away in NSW :(

See that is exactly what i am after MrC. Sadly it is 800km away or more to the point sadly that it seems no GC clubs offer it. Any one know of any to prove me wrong.

I can go a little closer for you matt…I’m at pacific in brisbane on a student membership, though I know pacific calls it “intermediate category”; It offers all the perks of a Full Member (7 day course access, clubhouse access etc) but is much cheaper (roughly half price annual fees and MUCH cheaper nom fee); it’s for 18-21 year olds, or upto 24 if you are a full time student. Perhaps you should be looking for similar terminology at the coast courses: ie “intermediate” or similar rather than “student”

Found a great intermediate membership at Tweed Heads-Coolangatta, which actually has 2 18 hole courses, all keen to ring the club about it and then notice it says female members only. OUCH. Next male memberships are over $300 more. Talk about discrimination.
