Adam Scott makes a great birdie to get in a playoff!

2nd play-off hole.

What a shot by Scott!!!!

First playoff hole his G-string must have been tight, but he hits a world class shot when they go back to the 17th for the second play-off hole.

Other guy in playoff is Ryan Moore.

Scott has good chance to make birdie but his par could be good enough as Moore is well off target and has a very tough up n down

Great two putt from Moore.

Scotts putting once again lets him down. On to the 18th again!

good drive from moore, scott hits another big one but a slight push means he’s in the bunker.

Advantage Moore for the first time in the playoff

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott holes a monster for birdie!!!!!!!

Moore lips out to extend it.

Scott is champion!!!!

The birdie must have been 70 or 100 feet!

What a great win, I was up at 5am to watch it and loved it all!.

Ryan Moore, what a unique swing, he was out here last year for the PGA at Coolum, pretty cool calm player, but when the guy your playing against holes a 48ft putt for bird on the 3rd play off hole, what can ya do?.

Great win by Scott!

Man, I hope Scott shows his full potential one of these days. Great win though!

Lol… it was a mere 48 feet ;)

Brilliant (maybe lucky) shot and a great play-off win.

Problem with Scott is firing the 1-over final round to get himself into that situation in the first place. (Then again, he could have played like Sergio Garcia!)

hmmm Publish I usually find you to be one of the wisest and most knowledgeable people on these forums, but I have to disagree with you there.

We (Australian golfing public) all seem to have to bag Adam Scott no matter how he plays. Every second week someone is complaining about how he didn’t win – we almost have expectations that he should win every tournament he plays, and birdie every hole he makes GIR.

And now when he finally wins we bag him for not winning in 72 holes and having to go to a playoff?

The bloke is only in his 20s and has won 7 (correct me if I’m wrong) times on the PGA Tour already, not to mention a handful of times in Europe and Asia.

Sometimes I think we should all get off his back.

Obviously you are alot more knowledgeable and experienced in this great game than me, and maybe I’m just being a little smart ass. But I thought I’d give my 2 cents.

I don’t want to take anything away from Scott. This win will probably elevate him to 3rd in the world rankings and that’s a great record.

My concern is purely that his final round average is pretty weak. As support for that argument, I refer to his 2008 PGA Tour stats which show:

Scoring Average : Stat : Rank
Overall : 70.06 : 3rd
Scoring Avg. Before Cut : 69.70 : 3rd
Round 3 Scoring Avg. : 69.00 : 9th
Final Round Scoring Average : 72.00 : 103rd

To be in the top 10 for scoring average for three rounds, then drop to 103rd for the final round shows an inability to finish.

Compare that to Tiger Woods, who’s in the top 10 for all four rounds.

These stats prove that Adam Scott is a myth. The media talk him up leading into every major yet he never produces the goods in the ones that matter. Don’t get me wrong, he’s trying his best out there; but when he’s up against the best in the world, he goes missing.

Adam is only young and golfers are known to mature at a later age than he is. Often many don’t play their best golf until 40. I think he will progress and win majors. For his age, he is an exceptional talent and has an incredible game (bar his putting of course). What he has achieved to date is brilliant. Sadly for him, he is playing in an era with an absolute FREAK and is judged against his standards, of which it is impossible to match.

..i'll come up with one soon..
