Hi, im only new on here and have only just become a member at my local course.This might sound stupid but I’m playing in my 1st comp game this weekend and it is a Medley single stableford can someone explain to me what this is??

I once heard that Medley was the women and men competing together, but that was a while ago and I may be mixing the words up.

You’ve got to sing while you play, at least 4 different songs a hole.

Haha, nah par 3’s you have to sing 3, par 5s, 5 and so on. Handicap of course adjusts the amount of songs per hole (SPH) to make sure the event is even.

Medley means that men and women can play together.

To be more precise Mixjah it means you can have a group of either all males, all females or a mixture of both. So if you’re a mcp you don’t HAVE to play in a group with females.

I wouldn’t mind playing with women as long as they bring a plate :)

So just to be clear, (medley) means im playing in a mixed comp. (single) means im obviously playing for my own score and (stableford) is the type of format game we are playing. i think ive got it, and whem playing stableford do i use my handicap and add strokes to the par at certain holes??
