Righto, so there are plenty of nicknames up on this forum and I imagine this thread has already been done but how did you get the names you use at ISG? – mine is fairly obvious…if I could play golf all day every day I would, and I wanted a name that had golf in it…how about yours?

A bad day at golf is better than a good day at work.

My full name is Andrew Norrby.

From Norrby you get Nobby

Nobby Stiles was on the England football team that won the world cup in 1966 and had a great career.

Styles is just a variation :-)

I also get Stylsie and Stylesmanator :-)

Has a lot to do with the land of my birth. Someone used it many years ago & it just stuck.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

I’ll join in here also and let you into the secrets of my nick – Ditty is part of a vietnamese sentence which means eff off quick quick (or similar…) It was my favourite saying and I got nicked with ditty. I also had the nick of nipper given to me by my dad when I was a kid – a common saying or name in the 50’s but mine stuck for many many years – I’m a fire officer and have “nipper” on the back of my helmet.

Political Correctness is doctrine fostered by a delusional minority and by the media, which holds forth the proposition it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Years ago I was working at Golf Box when I met Jeff Brooks from Newman & Brooks Golf. He never called anyone by their normal name and straight away I became “Maverick”.

Fortunately, it’s followed me around pretty much ever since, as before that, I was called “bra”, from my full initials, and then just good old “BA” from around the time the A-Team ruled.

Brett

My usual nicknames are Mick or Ace but I thought Mick would be a bit boring and seeing as though I’m yet to get an ace it just didn’t seem right on this forum.

Boof just comes natual because my Dad always called me a boof head but a search of the Urban Dictionary (Urban Dictionary) has me thinking that a change might be in order lol Might change it ….

Cheers,

Mick

Edited: Took germ out because a search of the Urban Dictionary shows that germ doesn’t sound too flash either ..

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.

Mine is easy too, ‘Franky’ from an old nickname given to me years ago and ‘B’ from the last initial, I’ve used the nick on many forums over the years and see no point to changing it now.

Mine was mysockshurt which is a fav response of mine (said in a spaz voice) when asked how i am. Changed it to socks as its just easier for people to type.

My last names Sargent, the only problem in my family is that all the males obviously have the same name and if were all together at birthdays and such and have our mates there it can get confusing as were all known as Sarg :-)

My name is Leigh, and a few years ago me and my mate were listening to the radio at work. The dj on the radio at the time was ‘leighdog’. So it stuck.

Apparently I look like Finch from the American Pie movies. I won’t shag your mother, though… don’t worry.

People have been calling me Finch since the first movie came out… some people don’t even know my real name!

Aussie_Bomber

Not very imaginative Im afraid…. Im Aussie, my AFL team is the Bombers and as a Long Driver my obsession is hitting Bombs.

The guys on tour currently call me “Junior”, as I am the newest guy on tour and like to talk alot of trash to the big boys. Not a very intimidating nickname for a Long Driver! I did get called Jason (Zuback) Junior a couple of times but it was not in terms of his distance unfortunately, more for being an ex power lifter and still having large-ish arms…

Great Topic L4G… sorry I couldnt have a more exciting post… hahaha..

Feel it, execute it, live with it.

Mr Consistency was given to me by a mate who I play alot of golf with after I went around 24 holes straight (A full round plus the first six of the next) scoring 2 points. I can tell you that it is quite frustrating at times! But I don’t take the 2 pointers for granted anymore because I am currently struggling to make them at the moment!

"Will the real slim shady, please stand up"?

Mine is pretty simple but have only just started using it.

My first name is Warren.

I was in the military and my common nickname was Ando (last name Anderson) however one of my best mates and his daughters called me Wazzza (they really stretched it out). He died in Iraq recently so as a reminder I use Wazzza now.

I get called mulchy(a derivative of my surname) golf mates call me Scuffy (from the way I chip) or Stainless(can’t chip) and I gave myself this name as I was pulling my shots right and all the other good lefty names seem to have been taken.I can move the ball both ways ,I just don’t know when 8)

You don't hit anything on your back swing so why rush it!!!!

Mine comes from my favourite band and I use it for a few forums, not a real nickname at all just something I made up when I needed to think of a login.

I had a mate whose surname was Piles. Piles – rhymes with Styles – so after about 2 training sessions (soccer) he became Nobby! RIP mate.

I’m an Arsenal fan – so GoonerAl is easy to work out!
