I got dragged to DFO on the weekend and was pleasently surprised to see a golf coarse will be going in. Means the girlfriend can go shopping and I can go play golf.

Anyone know any more about it other that it is being built? eg; layout, who is designing it, etc etc?

I would say there is big money to made with a decent reasonably priced course in brisbanes inner south…just doesnt seem to be much around.

thats exactly right jarrod. that vic park is a disgrace. short, easy, overbooked overpriced for what it is. nudgee is terrible as well. so is saint lucia. I’ve just moved to coomera/ormeau area. there a so many great courses down this way and some are very very reasonable

Thats right…well, there isnt really much in between say vic park/st lucia and logan/coomera area….you can head west to oxley etc but not much else. Try the driving range at Vic park….rip off, like 15 bucks for 100 balls hitting off mats…surely they dont need to charge that much. Nice facility otherwise though…is there a short game area though..only been a couple of times?

I am guessing the DFO course will be quite reasonably priced…considering that north lakes it not far away.

yeah depends who builds it etc. remember that if it is a proper length course it’ll be the closest to the city and service all the wanna yuppies in the new farm hamilton area so i wouldn’t expect it to be be too good of a deal. and i can say bc i used to live in newfarm and hated every second of it.

and jarrod, the whole course is a short game area. I’m not the longest hitter in the world, and i think there’s only two holes where on a GOOD day i can’t hit the green off the tee, or at least be a bump and run or short chip away.

If my wife went shopping for all the time it took to play golf, it would be a very expensive round.

What a god awful piece of land to put a golf course on.

Looking forward to taking a swing and loosing it into a plane engine or being put off my the plane engine.

Similar thing happened when I was playing cricket in England, we were in the field. Fast bowler runs in, jet flys over coming into land (due to air force base down the road), batsmen looks up in awe and loses his stumps…no excuses – you’re out
