why does everyone including brett ogle(he should know better) continue to call it the us masters, the correct name is the masters.95% of people who watch golf are golfers & should know the difference. this comes about from every other golfing country has taken the name to copy the tournament, even tennis has nicked it.if you said to someone at augusta this they have you out the front gate very quick. the coverage may confuse people who are looking for the us masters but the get the masters instead, hope not!

I would doubt people would get confused, and if they do, they probably deserve to miss it.

A lot of americans also call the The Open Championship the British Open, I suppose so as not to confuse with The US Open Championship.

I don’t care what they call it, best 4 days of golf at the best golf course! IMO :) Just wish they would show more of the front nine!

4 holes in one… they really are freaks, aren’t they.

Oh, and nice to see Arnie pick up a NTP as well.

Reverse every natural instinct you have and do just the opposite of what you are inclined to do and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing. - BEN HOGAN, POWER GOLF

Is the Masters on Channel 10 or Channel 10 HD?
I heard they changed it from HD under protest from those who don’t have it but it’s still on their website as being on HD.

Is it just me or does anyone else find Jim Nantz nauseating? He’s now calling Gary Player “Mr Player”. Jesus these yanks go on like pork chops – it’s sickly sentimental.

Does anyone really think the Zoellers, Players and Mizes in the field deserve their spots? Or should they be given to the 51st, 52nd and 53rd players in the world – guys who actually have a shot of winning and aren’t just there because they can be.

There is a good arguement for both sides. I just saw player finish. I hope I look that good in my 70’s, except for the “pants under the arm pits” look!

The US Masters is the most pretentious event going around. Don’t get me wrong I love golf, the tournament and all of the majors but I tune in to watch fantastic golf not sickly sentimental, self efficating American dribble. It also bores me to watch footage of azaleas and georgia pines while listening to classical musicwith some yank essentially saying, “how’s the serenity”. So I’ll start to call it the US Masters now that I know it pisses off pretentious yanks!

BuggeraCup…..If you ever get the chance to be a spectator at the Masters, your view would change.

Perhaps you are right Skip, I would love to be there in person one year. However it concerns me that they seem to put more emphasis on the aesthetics and visual presentation of the course rather than the actual golf.

If you go, you will need to buy tan shorts and hang some id round your neck to fit in
