Discussion for McNamee leaves Golf Australia

From a Melbourne supporter like me … you lose some, you win some!

I hope he’s taking the pub hole idea with him!

At least he brought some “lateral” thinking to the position

Yeh quite a loss I think. I love how the press release was carefully orchestrated to never say the word resigned. There is never a mention of leaving only of taking up another position….clever word skills to avoid talking about the reality.

Another one jumping ship. Thanx for coming!

Fingers crossed whoever takes over managing the Australian Open next year sorts out the website issues they had this year. The scoring screw-ups really made them look unprofessional.

Well isn’t that because McNamee wasn’t really “quitting” golf? From what I gather, he just wanted to move from a part-time role (at GA) into a full-time role (at Melbourne) and the Dees presented him with that opportunity.

It’s rather funny that McNamee had an article in a retirement magazine only last September or October about how much he was enjoying semi-retirement!

Scrambler – If you have a part-time job at McDonalds and move to a full-time job at Hungry Jacks – do you resign or leave the job at McDonald’s? He had a job at GA – he now has a job somewhere else – so he has resigned.

Leave, resign, move on… same deal, but I thought it was made pretty clear that McNamee moved because he wanted to undertake a full-time role rather than the part-time work he was doing with Golf Australia.

Mate you’re missing the point entirely – they have successfully turned a fairly big negative in to a positive. They never mention any of the negatives eg he resigned and the orchestrator of some of the biggest changes in golf tournaments in Australia (in terms of entertainment) for some time is gone. Nowhere in that press release does it say he moved because he wanted a full-time role. You sure you don’t work for GA?

No, I just thought the consistent wording of “full-time role” in the title and quotes implied that he wanted to make a change.

With all the subjects and all the threads available, amazing how Scrambler comes up on this one for his original posts. It may be a bit cynical and if I’m wrong will be the first to extend an apology, so I look forward to seeing a continued presence from Monsieur Scrambler. If not, me thinks you may be right Admin.

Yes davego – I think we have a stooge here and one who seems to know that he did leave because he wanted a full-time job even though it does not say that anywhere in the press release…hmmmm First post ever on the forums on this particular topic too…..something smells fishy….sniff sniff :)

Still Admin, must be pleasing in some sense to think that the iseek forums are watched so closely by other areas, (no names no pack drill) for the purpose of jumping in to put a different spin on things where it may cause them embarrasment.
