We’re off to Bay Hill this weekend for another ISG Tour Tipping event. This is a reduced field held the week before the World Golf Championship event at Doral, so there are a bunch of Euro players in the field. It’s not long to the Masters too (April 10). We’ll skip the WGC at Doral (Easter weekend) and probably do the Zurich Open (March 27) and then the Masters. I will put my thinking cap on and think of some rule changes to allow everyone to get a decent squad together for the majors, perhaps by choosing a special one-off squad with a higher salary cap. Afterwards you revert to your normal squad. Other suggestions welcome at this point. Here’s the field… You must have your ISG Tipping entry in before the first tee time to be eligible for scores for this tournament. First tee time is 7 am Thu morning Florida local, which works out to around 11 pm Thu night Aus East Daylight time. Please post your entries here: Entries Full rules, comments and questions here: Main Competition Thread Existing entrants please check the Changes topic to see if you are qualified to enter.

Tiger is even par? Is the world about to come to an end…? “Fred Couples made four birdies in his opening six holes, shot 5-under 65, and golf finally felt fun. Tiger Woods finally looked human… He missed one green with a pitching wedge, another green with a sand wedge, and settled for a 70 that left him five shots behind, but not in awful shape.” Scoring was reasonably sedate at the Arnold Palmer, after the carnage of the PODS still in everyone’s mind, but there were still a few big numbers to screw up a lot of scorecards: +3: Nathan Green, Pat Perez, Immelman, Micheel All those black numbers have given the ISG Leaderboard a decidely downbeat feel, especially with an unusually high number of DQs. However, one competitor that missed the cut at the PODS (and is languishing at 23rd on the money list overall) has taken advantage, compiling a tidy three-under on the back of Tour rookie Dustin Johnson. Muntz decided to leave his squad unchanged, and the boys have ground out some solid scores to lead the field by one stroke. Not a bad effort for a total of 7.60 ranking points. Muntz Dustin Johnson -2 Villegas -1 Snedeker Ev Appleby +2 = -3 Currently second is jb_ who had a hot start to the season by coming third in the Sony Open and fifth in the Buick, but since then has gone off the boil, with a couple of missed cuts and a T10. The Artist Formerly Known as jackb has retooled his squad, dropping Slocum, Ames and Baddeley and replacing them with Rollins, Glover and Immelman. Here are the results: jb_: Glover -4 Rollins Ev Ogilvy +2 Immelman +3 = -2 Tied for second is a completely newbie entry. heybrew: Campbell -2 Garcia Ev Matt Jones Ev Appleby +2 = -2

Arnold Palmer Invitational Second Round Update Tiger has managed to roll in some birdies, but he’s still 7 strokes behind Vijay’s -9 at the halfway point. Petterson and Westwood are leading the international charge at -7 and -6. Matt Jones is the best Aussie at -2, and only Ogilvy, Elkington and Senden survived the halfway cut at +2. Our newbie heybrew has got off to a great start in his inaugural ISG Tipping event. He posted an impressive 8 under for the 2nd round to lead by 4 strokes. heybrew: Garcia -4 Campbell -4 Matt Jones -2 Appleby +6 = -10 adlo1980 also posted an impressive 8 under, mostly on the back of Vijay Singh, to move from T13 to outright 2nd. He’s only made the cut in one event so far, the FBR, but finished T3 in that event so is 18th on the order of merit overall. Some more cash here would boost his standing considerably. adlo1980: Singh -9 Davis Love III +1 Elkington +2 Jason Day +9 = -6 Despite having only 3 players, AlexMc has lifted from T16 to 3rd place. Alex has picked up money in the last three events and finished 2nd in the FBR. AlexMc: Immelman -3 Matt Jones -2 Snedeker Ev Ryan Moore DNP = -5 -10 heybrew

With only Trahan still on the course (+1 thru 3) you had better hope the guys above you run into a brick wall. Might happen – scoring looks hard, there are only three guys subpar today, and ten guys over – Poulter is +3 thru 5 holes !

Arnold Palmer Invitational Third Round Update Well, just when you thought someone had put a stick of kryptonite in Tiger’s bag, he racks up six birdies en route to a useful 66. Vijay meanwhile dropped 5 shots in 4 holes, and posted a 73. Hey presto, Tiger’s equal leader with Bubba, Bart and others at 6 under. Best round of the day was a 63 from Sean O’Hair to put him in the running for back-to-back wins. Not bad considering only 15 players broke par for the round. Again, most ISG competitors went backwards scoring wise, which left brettmaverick on top of the leaderboard after posting an even par round. Brett missed the cut in the PODS but persisted with his “choppers” and is now in line for his first big payday of the season. brettmaverick: Snedeker -2 Perez -2 Tim Clark Ev Appleby +6 = -4 Newbie heybrew went from shooting 8 under to shooting 7 over, but he’s still holding on to outright second. Another round like that though and he’s history… heybrew: Chad Campbell -2 Garcia -1 Matt Jones Ev Appleby +6 = -3 A one over round was enough to lift live4golf from 8th to 3rd. He was 15th after the first round. He’s only been on the tour for two events and sits down at 36th on the money list. Not for long. live4golf: Bubba Watson -6 Garcia -1 Chopra +6 Flanagan DNP = -1

ISG Arnold Palmer Invitational Final Round Scores As you no doubt know, Tiger kept his latest streak alive by winning a tight duel with 45 y.o. Bart Bryant at Bay Hill, winning with a thrilling downhill slider on the 18th that fell into the hole with a couple of rolls left. Tiger ripped off his hat and hurled it to the ground in triumph. That’s 7 worldwide wins in a row, 5 of them on the PGA Tour. Vijay hit 14 greens in the last round but only made two birdies and finished three strokes back. heybrew teed off in the last group, but sadly the ISG tour rookie couldn’t keep his challenge going, posting +6 in the last two rounds to fade to 8th place. Best round of the day was a 5 under from chris9485 to move from 13th to T5. But the day belonged to bucks05 who streeted the field with a -10 total. Bucks has had some small paydays to date, but will be moving into the top 10 with this tournament victory. bucks05: Pettersson -4 Ogilvy -3 Snedeker -3 J.B. Holmes +5 = -10 Second place goes to brettmaverick with a 3 under total. Last week the same squad missed the cut at the PODS. Brett has been a consistent performer on the ISG Tour, picking up money in 4 out of 6 events, but 2nd place finish will also lift him into the top 10 on the money list. brettmaverick: Snedeker -3 Perez Ev Tim Clark Ev Appleby +6 = -3 Third place was a tie between jb_ and kyle. On countback, they both had final rounds of -2, so we need to go back to the third round scores kyle scored +2 and jb_ scored +5. kyle: Pettersson -4 Snedeker -3 Luke Donald +3 Nathan Green +4 = -1

Here’s the final leaderboard for the event. Amazingly Styles kept his streak of 6/6 cuts alive by posting a -2 on the final round to sneak into the last money position. Our money leader rebjon missed another cut, giving davego a chance to make up ground. But once again, the leaders managed to dodge the big money in this event, making things even closer overall. -10 bucks05

Hi Muntz, I was just trying to work out my score. Can you tell me where I went wrong: Ogilvy -3 Best three scores are -3, -3 & +6 a Total of Even, but I’m listed at +11. Have I missed something in the calculations, or am I due for a better payout than Tied for 15. Cheers

You are correct MJT, for some reason I missed a couple of the changes that were posted on the 13th. Just a sec… all fixed.
