Discussion for Woods crushes Cink for 63rd title

What’s there to say about this . Cink was never going to challenge Woods over 36 holes . He’s in that group of older USA players who’ll win the odd tournament at stroke play and make a very nice living along the way . I’d love his career, talent and lifestyle btw, don’t get me wrong on this please. He just knew that Woods was way too good for him.

tot woods was not hitting it flushed …?
If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ? |
|
how good is this guy (Woods)... i watched some of early matches and this guy is a machine when he needs to make a putt he makes it ….in time he will have record in golf including a grand slam …maybe even this year

Man,4 posts since 2004.I actually had zero since then until this year but you’ve got me beaten. In any case, you could well be correct about Woods winning all the majors this year. He’s playing better than ever and his opposition is pathetic. Interesting to know what odds you can get on him making a clean seep . Anything better than 50/1 would be a no-brainer as the real odds should be around 32/1 at worst . He’s easily the best putter I’ve ever seen, particularly on difficult putts that matter. Still unsure that he’s actually human though . Probably just some ET getting his kicks at our expense.

I BELIEVE THE ODDS ARE ACTUALLY LESS THAN 10-1 ….. UNREAL

Tiger is 100% human

I don’t think Adam has the heart for it.He’s too much of a Tiger fan.Maybe Jason Day?
|
|
Isn’t Adam the Identical twin of Tiger (in terms of Swings) ?

Badds is in the zone at the moment and he finally has his head right. I reckon he’s on his way to #2 behind Tigger.

i’ll root for Badds too simply becos he’s a decent bloke…

Couple of things: 1) Tiger was awesome, his ability to make the putts that matter is phenomenal. 2) Stewart Cink was a disgrace – he mightn’t as well ahve turned up. As it was so one sided I didn’t bother watching it all but did catch the par 5 when Cink holed from 35’ for Eagle. Tiger lipped out for Eagle to go ‘only’ 7 up. Camera cuts to Cink and what’s he doing? Having a little knuckle punch with Tiger and a great laugh – could you see Tiger having the same reaction if the roles were reversed? Absolutely not! He’d be convinced that was the start of a comeback. Shame on Cink!

I didn’t think it would have been possible at the start of the year…but I think he is a fair shot at winning everything he plays this year…

he needs too much luck to win them all – one nice storm at the british will blow him away

I watched quite a bit of the Matchplay in the last few days. Tiger had a reasonable week tee to green but his putting was just phenomenal. He’s clearly the best iron player in the world but the putting this year seems to have gone to another level yet again. The ability to make the putts that really matter is just remarkable. The Baddley, Stenson and Cink matches were tremendous golf but to me the 1st round match really stands out. He played really poorly for the first 13th holes to be 3 down. To then make 3 birdies and an eagle in 4 holes with putts totalling 90ft was compelling to watch. I agree to an extent on Cink but he was never going to come back from 7 down, he knew it and so did Tiger. Woods would have believed he could but then he would have never been in that position in the first place. 7 wins in his last 8 tournaments with the only blip a shabby 2nd place in the Deutsche Bank event. I would have said the Grand Slam was exceptionally unlikely a few months ago but now I’m not so sure. It’s still very much odds again but if you look at each event on it’s own Masters – he will always contend at Augusta and after failing to win when he probably should have in the last 2 years is probably due another victory. US Open – if Tiger could pick one course for the tournament it would probably be Torrey Pines. 4 wins in a row in the Buick. The course will be much tougher in June and he will have to have a good driving week. No wins since 2002 – again due The Open – I agree you need luck to win especially in that you can easily get on the wrong side of the draw with the weather. Birkdale sets up very well for Tiger though – it’s a ball strikers course and he has played well there before – missed the playoff by a shot I think in 1998. It was fairly windy that week as well if I remember correctly from being there. US PGA – don’t know much about Oakland Hills but if he’s won all 3 at that stage would you bet against it. He certainly won’t be fazed by the expectation or pressure. All iffs and buts and lots of luck required along the way but I think there is a chance. He’ll highly likley to win 4 more events this year so why not these 4. I had a look at the odds a few weeks ago with the intention of putting a few £’s on. It was 20-1 then which is ridiculous and must be getting shorter every week. I’ll be at Augusta and Birkdale so shall be seeing some of the golf in person.

Yeah, he had a shocker at Torrey pines a few weeks ago, so not much chance of winning the US Open. Hope he makes the cut though.

Is it true that the gap in the World rankings between number 1 and number 2 is wider than the gap between number 2 and number 1000?

Cink was merely treating it as a friendly club match ??
If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ? |

Yup, the gap between 1st and 2nd is bigger than from 2nd to last. I think at one stage last year though, Lorena Ochoa had a similar lead as well.
