How early would u turn up before tee off ?

For a minor Comp – Prob about 10-15 min b4

Major one – ~30 min before

Social – just on time, sometimes late….

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it's the right stick !

Depends how ready I feel. If I have some thing I wanna get right, I sometimes go an hour before tee-off to whack balls. Generally however, I am doing my best not to be late.. Has anyone else noticed that you always seem to have less time before tee-off than you think you do? I am never ready when my name gets called..

I like to get there half an hour b4 teeing off. pay the comp fee, hit a few 6irons, 3wds and drives in the nets, then a few putts then tee off. I think if you get there too early you can start thinking about your game too much. i prefer to almost be rushed into teeing off.

where i play has an out of bounds down the entire right side of the 1st hole and somedays plays into the wind. think too much about the 1st tee shot and you can be playing 3 off the tee.

Always an hour, hit a small bucket, have a relax….opposite to brad I hate being rushed and I enjoy watching others take on our first hole…163m par 3.

Got our summer comp coming up this saturday, will be getting there at least an hour early, give me time to get the short game going.

I generally play shortly after mid-day.

My perfect morning goes like this:

Rise at 7.30
8 – Gym for one hour (cardio)
9.30 – Back home showered etc and eating brekfast
10.00 – leave for driving range and drop daughter off with my parents
10.30-11.30 – Driving Range, hit a bucket of 60 or so and spend 20 minutes on the chipping green
11.45 – arrive at course, pay competition fee, get tees & balls sorted. Head for the putting green, chat with friends and playing partners.
12.00 Head for first tee feeling confident I can produce a good score.

So I basically like to be hitting balls about and hour and a half before I tee off. My wife is very understanding lol!

about 40 mins before tee off…mainly so i can stretch properly

Wll hit some wedges and putts of around 6ft maybe 10 feet (those are the ones you miss most)

Hydrate….atleast 700 ml of water before I tee off in that half hour.

Make sure I have only 14 clubs in the bag :)

I generally try to get to the course at least 30 mins prior to tee off, hit a few wedges and 6 irons.

I tend to prefer not to have a practice putt because of the variance between the putting greens and the greens on the course. Start in a good frame with the short stick…

HMM…I putt badly if I dont have a practice first up with the blade

Minimum arrival time is an hour before tee off for me.

Warm-up will be:

Chipping/pitching
Range – full wedges, 8/6/4 iron or 9/7/5 iron followed by some 3woods, driver then working back down the irons.
Finish with putting and bit of a relax before teeing off

Cheers

Liam

Depends on the mood. During high school varsity tourneys, my friend would show up at my house and we’d hit a couple dozen golf balls and he’d have a smoke and off we’d go and get there usually about 5 minutes before we were supposed to tee off. Coach hated us doing that, but the feeling was mutual and we usually shot on par or so with the “chosen children” of the golf team, which pissed him off even more.

the name of the game is to score
do whatever best prep you for this…..
some do the conventional way others their own recipe

Hard chris de marco and laura davis hardly ever practise on the range ?? they just play on the course.

You forgot 7:35 – scratch arse
9:55 – fart etc.

lol

I now its the worst thing to eat but I like hungry jacks beofre I play…some junk food puts me in a good mood for playing…washed down with fanta.

to me golf is about mentally ready as its is physical

45 minutes. Gives enough time to play the comp fee, down a couple of schooners and get the bets on, then rush to the first with a 30 second practice putt and chip.
Anything else is time wasted….

Unfortunately, I have to tee off at 6.30 every Saturday because I start work at 11. I am always running late, usually due to few to many end of week drinks on the Friday night. I run into the pro shop, pay my fees, run to the tee, then hit off, usually without a practice swing let alone a warm up or a putt.
