Whats the best courses you have played both in Australia and overseas? Mine would be Newcastle in Australia and The Gary Player Country Club at Sun City in South Africa.

Joondalup (quary 9)

Then Growling frog…it might not be perfect yet but will be…loved its design (Graham Marsh)

havent been overseas!!

Must admit not played many.
Perth public Collier park, Carramar.
Perth private/greenfees Yanchep Sun city,Burswood.A great combo a night at Perths best hotel. The Burswood, and a game of golf. And if lucky a win in the casino.
UK some course in Bramhall Cheshire (Brother in law a member).
Scotland Dunkeld(only the one, cousin a member.)

I can say the worse course I have ever played is the Yanchep national park ,in Perth. I play there once a week with my 82 year old Dad. Absoluet sh*t course , great Dad.

Royal Melb.

Murwillumbah (NSW)
The Vines (Lakes)
Bunbury (Home)

Played Club Pelican at Caloundra. Really testing scenic course . Best layout I have played on. Played Mona Vale in Sydney several years ago & quite enjoyed that. After that would have to say Northlakes in Brisbane.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine

Played St.Andrews last year and that will no doubt be impossible to top. Late last year and earliy this year my wife and I have played the Hyatt Coolum, Pelican Waters, North Lakes, Royal Pines, Palm Meadows, The Glades, Hope Island and Pacific Harbour.

These course were all a joy to play. Of all those courses I was most impressed with The Glades, Hope Island and for a real test of golf Pacific Harbour.

Having said that I would be happy to play any of the above on any day of the week. They are all great courses and make you appreciate how lucky we are in Australia to be able to play golf on courses of this callabre.

Played Pacific Harbour last week. I thought it was a terrific layout but could not come to terms with those greens, They are extremely large, undulating & lightening fast. I thought the greens made the course just a little too hard for all but the best golfers.

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

Heading to Victoria in 3wks and staying at Penninsula. Playing both courses there, have played them before, and also playing Woodlands and Portsea for the first time.

Publish, how does Port Fairy rate against the Penninsula courses?

best Ive played in Oz would be NSW or Barnbougle Dunes, OS would have to be Carnoustie Championship from the back- just awsome

"the woods are full of long drivers"

the cut
national moonah
barnbougle dunes
victoria
the australian

no particular order

Gee, that’s like comparing a Shiraz with a Chardonnay.

Peninsula is very good quality Melbourne sandbelt (much better now with all the work they’ve done compared with a few years ago), with some of the pretentiousness that goes with the label.

Port Fairy is the opposite … unpretentious and the best value for money in Victoria. A fabulous little seaside links course on a great piece of dunes land, with a “no-name” design that is just pure golfing fun.

If I could retire to a pleasant town on the coast and play one course for the rest of my life, Port Fairy would be at the top of my list.

The Dunes

Every course I have ever played on. Good or bad, I’m happy to be walkin around swinging the sticks.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish.....

Pacific Dunes at Port Stephens in Aus and the Emirates course where they are playing this week on the Euro tour is by far the best overseas course I have played.

Hardly played outside of Sydney (yet);

New South Wales
The Lakes
Royal Sydney
Paradise Palms (Cairns)
Cypress Lakes

and another honourable mention to Mona Vale….

Augusta

Thou shall fear golf will fail

Ria Bintan except for the humidity. When I played Augusta I was dissapointed at how open it really is and St Andrews (the old course) I found is not really that difficult except when the wind blows. Neither course is as pleasing to the eye as Ria Bintan, ask any pro who has played there.

National Moonah
National Old
Links Lady Bay
The Dunes
Riversdale

In Australia – tie between Royal Melbourne, Metro and The Aussie.
Overseas – Shinnecock Hills

peeble beach
St Andrews and
Augusta

Great courses indeed !

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it's the right stick !
Good Golf is Fun plus the Great Outdoors...
In the Bag: Clubs and Balls. My Handicap is Bad Golf.

mission hills – china
glen eagles (kings)
spring valley – home ha ha
