Besides the driving range where else can u practise ?
I do it in my backyard..usually chipping
occasional using those plastic balls.
and at a soccer field in the next suburb when it’s not used.

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it's the right stick !

I normally just swing in my backyard for 20 mins each day just repeating the stroke with a few different clubs.

If you’re lucky like me you live near a course that has a hole in the fence adjacent to the local park…every afternoon of my childhood was spent sneaking on with PW in hand to have some closest to pin comps with my mates.

Tiger Woods growing up used to practice inside, he said there was no greater pressure then knowing he had to chip over the vase onto the couch knowing the consequences from his mother if he missed…

The best place really is the range. You want to be able to build your swing there and build confidence so that on the course all you are worried about is your top 3 inches; deciding what club, how hard to swing etc.

Best place to practice?

I love playing some golf games on my laptop. You gota concentrate to play well after a few relaxing beers.

You are kidding yourself if you think you can make it without hard-work.

i have a park at the end of my street which isn’t used for anything, I think because it floods, except for a kids playground up one end. My mate and I practice there usually with wedges.

When I was in my teens I rarely played golf, but I had a sand iron and I’d often chill out in the backyard hitting a golf against the brick chimney…I had to be accurate!

Anyway, the times I did play were with family members who took golf far more seriously than I did and were all low handicappers. They were impressed by the accurate little lobs I’d play around the green, which was way out of character with the rest of my inaccurate game! I now wish I’d had a bigger back yard and perfected the lower lofted clubs!

It hit those plastic practice balls with full wedge shots against the wall in the pool table room, I putt on the carpet in the pool room, I chip on the carpet in the hallway upstairs, I practice hitting into my driving cage out in the front yard, then I go to the course and use the practice fairway, putting green and chipping area. I’m kinda spoit for choice :). With a little imagination its amazing how many places you can swing a club inside.

i practise inside sometimes chiping onto the couch or into a hat, once i was just swinging round with my hibrid and ihit the roof lol it left a foot longpaint mark on the roof so in my minute of quick thinking i thought if i leave it there till everone is in bed then ill get up and clean it off and noone will no lol anyways 2 minutes later my sister sees it and dobs me in lol but i still practice inside but now i no how tiger felt haha

ive set up a driving range in my 4 bay shed, which has plenty of length and height and have now just added a 5 metre carpet for putting. Chipping is done in the back yard to a cup and flag set up, and if your in good touch you can put the range mat on the drive hit lob wedge over the corner of the house to the flag, but not too long or your in the water hazzard ( neighbours pool). Full shots can be hit off the mat over the house with a “birdie ball” anyone else tried these funky little bits of plastic ?

"the woods are full of long drivers"

all great ideas
as they say ‘there’s will, there’s a way’ same for practising where

i try to avoid doing a full swing with a club indoors
but short chips (with plastic balls)
and putting on carpet

heard most pros including tiger bang balls into the drawn thick curtains of their hotel rooms….

In my sleep …...

that’s true
but the problem with golf in sleep, the swings and shots are always perfect :)

I live on the course – that helps.

The beach (mine is very quiet).

My local driving range has a short nine hole par3 course. I pay for a round on the pitch-and-putt and, as it is alonside the driving range, I take a bucket and collect balls. Then hit off a bucket – good value for $7.50.
