Choosing an Adelaide golf course

I’ve been offered by a mate to play on Australia Day as a guest with his work colleague, and he has amazingly offered a choice of 4 different venues, none of which I have played before. They are The Vines, Blackwood, Tea Tree Gully, and Mt Osmond. Can any other Adelaide users let me know their thoughts? I’m interested to know condition for this time of year, difficulty etc. Cheers, Bunny

Blackwood would be my pick. Played there just after Christmas and it was in good nick – nice challenging course, although a long-hitting mate of mine was frustrated that the dog legs on the par 5s seem to prevent you taking driver off the tee on a lot of the holes. Haven’t played the Vines, although I know Timatldg rates it highly.

If it was me, Blackwood would get the nod. It would then be a toss up between TTG and The Vines. Never been a fan of Mt Osmond :) Cheers and enjoy Liam

Played Blackwood last week, apart from a couple of greens have a patch or two of less than perfect grass the course is in great nick

Blackwood. They have their own endless supply of water courtesy of a natural spring bore on the property & it shows at this time of year.

I think we have a winner… and it’s not Mt Osmond.

Mt Osmond is a fine little track. It just gets VERY DAMP at the top of the hill in winter rendering it virtually unplayable at times & as I said before would be cherry for a couple of housing developments.
