Just curious as to how much everybody pays to be a member of their home club? It seems sydney is a lot more expensive to other capital cities.

I pay $1925 per year at long reef for 7 day membership.

$315 per year for a country course about 100km from Melbourne (see my sig).

Trentham Golf Club

$285pa +$11 to join RSL club – can pay in two instalments if need be!

Bunbury Golf Club, WA

$440 p.a. pay $20 per comp
$870 p.a. pay $7 per comp

and both have payment options.

Approx $2.5K.

This year I paid $732 for 9 months or $913 for a full year plus insurance, capitation and golf link charges of $48.Allup it would cost $961 last year I paid $1020 so I think they must have made a mistake this time.Fancy that a committees mistake in our favour.

No matter how bad your game it is always possible to get better or worse

Which course Rick?

Laidley

Really nice course at Laidley, only played it once but twas nice. I liked Hatton Vale for a hack as well.

There is no comparing the two, although Laidley is only 12 holes (soon to be 18…... maybe) , they have top quality greens and when there is rain and of course grass it is a great course. I have never played a course as rough as Hattonvale. But the locals love it.

$840 for Sydney course + $100 bar tab (doesn’t last long though).

Wasn’t comparing mate because as you say there is no comparison but it is a course with a great atmosphere…..and yes, it is rough.

I was a member at Royal LR up to 2001 and I remember the rates were around $1,000 which included a bar tab. I saw the course last week and it looked very busy but in great nick. I miss the views! My new course in NQ (Mystic Sands – 9 holes) is $400. Say hi to Ray Carless – he’ll know “Whiteman”.

$530 and no nomination fees – North Brisbane

I am a under 25 at Newcastle GC. I pay 550 per year with no joining fee. Course is normally $3000 (or close to that) joining fee and about $1300 subs. Joining fee is curently 50% off. Once i hit 25 it is $880 per year til im 30. Good value as it #11 in Oz.

$890.00 At Penrith in western Sydney. No Joining fee

course is in awesome condition and the greens are as good as eva. gets very busy ova the summer months but you can always get on. best time to play is when the wind is up as every hacker shits themselves, thats when royal LR comes into its own

$900 @ Carbrook Brisbane

Willows N.Q. we pay around $820 p.a. plus $7 for comps

A bad day on the golf course is better than no golf at all. :(

No one who ever had a lesson would have a swing like mine

Lee Trevino

Also play in at the Willows great value for the quality of the course. Extra $2 in the comps to play the super pin. Well worth it if you can get withi 1m on the short 11th. Often worth more than wining the comp

"WOW! the Laws of Physics actually work!!" Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Sleek Geeks, ABC TV, 3 January 2008.
