As a teaching Pro on the Gold Coast, i tell all my students who need new clubs to go to Drummond Underwood. For years this state has not had a golf shop that know how to fit clubs. I am forever fixing up wrong clubs that golf shops sell with the old story these are the ones for you mate story. I found that the 2 guys there Andrew and Colin (Both came up from Drummond in Melbounre )care about whats right for customers and not just there to get a cheap sale. The Club Fit system is the best fitting system in Australia. It will be a great day when Drummond open up a store on the coast and really show the local market how to service golfers. If anyone has doubts about the club fitting, just ring Callaway, Taylor Made , Ping, Titleist , Cobra and ask who has the best fitting system.

I have to agree with you Clubfitter
I purchased a set of Taylor Made R7 from the Golf World and was told that they were perfect for me straight of the rack.(stupid me)
After about 6 games and a blow out in my handicap my local pro told me they were way to short. so i took a drive up to Drummond Golf underwood and spoke to colin and he put me on there club fit system. Now i am 6’4 and he said that my clubs were to std length and that they should have been three quaters of a length more and 1 deg upright. So i was about to buy a new set and give these to my brother Thats when i new i had the right shop. He said why dont i save my money and re-shaft them. So Colin did a full re-shaft at a great price and now after 12 months my handicap has come down from 22 to 9. Although it takes me 40 min drive to get there i will not buy my golf gear anywhere but Drummond Underwood

wow, thats a great success story there Robinaman.

Great fishing expedition!

Most of the Club members i know all go to drummond.
At least i dont need to shower for a week to get clean like most shops down here.

What is there club fitting system, how does it work?

wrist to floor?

I got onto there site and it looks like they fite via computer is this correct? is it the same system that golfworks used to use upstairs? the computer measures swing speed , launch angle etc. Not being a smart arse here i am due for a new set of irons and if drummonds underwood are good i will give them a chance.

gents,

ball flight is a very important part of club fitting after all where the ball finishes is what we are looking

Drummonds Underwood has very good facilities for clubfitting and there is a wide choice of clubs from Ping ,Callaway, Taylor Made,Cleveland,Titleist, Cobra, Wilson to Cougar,Power Built,Top Flight plus many cheaper brands for all budgets Only top brands not seen by me are Mizuno and Srixon but could just be temporarily out of stock.A really well stocked shop .They are also nice people.

No matter how bad your game it is always possible to get better or worse

Don’t want to be too harsh, but two long posts to start the thread less than an hour apart from two newbie members? Smells like SPAM.

If I’m wrong, welcome aboard fellas and hope your lives are long and prosperous, and your putts per GIR are low.

Reverse every natural instinct you have and do just the opposite of what you are inclined to do and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing. - BEN HOGAN, POWER GOLF

No mizuno, they are the only irons i will buy now, I fell in love with them a few years back.

Spot on.

They may be good clubfitters, but the marketing sucks.

I agree Muntz. Abit of casting the line there.

I have been reading this site for some time and with the exception from a few its always a good read
Have only been to a drummond store once but it wont be the last. At least you get great service and advice not like Golf world @ springwood.
last time i went in there i was there for 20 min and no service at all. The guy was to busy reading the paper and as i left he said you right mate i told him i was going somewhere else to buy and he said “whatever chopper”
Now thats a good reason never to walk into a Brosnan sorry Golf world store again

“whatever chopper” thats a shocker. Nothing like friendliness from a store clerk.

I did sent a email to there head office but never got a reply. Wonder if anyone out there has been treated like that ??

You wouldn’t be a product of that Aust. Federation of golf coaches would you?

Clubfitter – you call up Callaway and ask which is the best fitting method, and $100 says they won’t say the Drummond Golf Club Fit System!......

they wouldn’t have spent $20,000+ building their system, PLUS the hiring of a FULL TIME FITTER to say theirs is second rate…...

And i don’t even think theirs is flawless and the best

sigs are back – YAY

Spot on Muntz!

Sounds like Drummond Golf have had a bad Christmas trade and are fishing for business on iseek.

Clubfitter (Drummond Staff member)
As a teaching pro? Also I assume by your username that you are a clubfitter, why are you not doing your customers a favour and selling them golf equipment?

Attention all Drummond Franchisees and staff members on these forums please at least help support iseek and pay for your advertising!

Oh boy, what shower do you think we came down in.

1. “After about 6 games and a blow out in my handicap my local pro told me they were way to short”. (Would have though your hcp would have only “blown out” 0.6 after half a dozen rounds even if you had an Aussie cricket score. Not what I call a “blowout”.

2. 22 hcp to 9 in 12 months just because you bought the “right length club”. Comeon!!!!

In answer to a few questions
I learnt my trade at Guildford Golf Club in England in the late 8o’s and later at Sutton Green Golf Club back when club fitting was an art.Club fitting back then was putting persimmon woods on steel shafts with binding. I have no intention to work in a pro shop or retail in this industry. There are so many people playing this great game of ours that think they know it all but every Saturday they still pollute the environment with 6 lost balls a round and shoot 100 but still have the knack of being an expert. My guess with some of the comments on here is that they must work for an opposition to Drummond golf because there comments are written with anger. Or maybe they were rejected for a job there.
Also grumpy-dog (Golf Word Staff member from Bundle) what suburb in Brisbane is the Callaway Fitting System located at? i will take that $100.

Aspiring club ho!

Now there’s an expression I have not heard in a very long time.

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by
the occasional miracle.
