Rick Kulacz - thanks for being nice!

I took my 10 year old son to the golf at Huntingdale for the first time yesterday and followed the group of Terry Pilkadaris, Ross McGowan and Rick Kulacz around. My son loves golf and he was on a high all day, but never more so than when Rick was walking to the next tee after making a great birdie on 6. With a casual “here mate catch” he tossed his unmarked Titleist to my son as a memento of the day. A really small thing to us, but a massive thrill to my son. It was also great to witness the way these three conducted themselves on the course all day, particularly Ross who had a double early on and just kept smiling. All in all a great day at the golf.

Hey Noluck, I agree; we had a similar experience with Michael Brennan at last years Cairns Classic when he tossed my 9yr old boy his ball (which sits pride of place on his bookshelf with his junior medallions. He was playing with Peter Senior (and I can’t remember the other guys name). It’s that sort of gesture that really inspires our kids and gives them generous role models. Peter Senior was also in a very chatty mood and it made a good day out at the golf even more enjoyable. Thanks to those out there on the professional circuit who do such great things for the spirit of the game and encourage us all to go watch them play. Outcast

I don’t know Ross, but I know both Terry and RIck, both guys are top blokes. Terry and Rick are great golfers, Terry has been doing well in Asia I would expect big things from them in the future. :)

Good stuff – good to hear.

Yep…great stuff it is to hear indeed. There are also many teaching pro’s who give free clubs to kids that they teach, do not charge for lessons or little at all because they want to help some little fella get a start. It is also a great feeling to have.
You are kidding yourself if you think you can make it without hard-work. |

Maybe being nice brings its own rewards – Kulacz is in a share of third place afte r the 2nd round.

It’s nice to see the pro’s brining a smile to a young kid’s face. A little kindness goes a long way….

Kulacz is going places as shown with his performances since turning professional and this week at the Australian Masters. It’s a case of “Watch this Space”. He’s simply talent with a capital “T”.

Have to agree with you Advocate – I have been following his performances for ages – not only a great player in the making he seems to be a pretty good bloke as well.
